A few weeks ago, we lost our friend Donald “Don” Miller, not too long after the passing of his wife.
Don and his wife were familiar faces at Route 66 Cafe. They would come in together, and after she passed, Don made a point to keep coming and continue the tradition they had shared. That always meant something to us.
When my wife and I moved to Clinton, Don was one of the people who made this community feel like home. As veterans, he welcomed us into the American Legion, and from there he became a friend.
Don was simply one of those good people you were fortunate to know.
We’ll miss seeing him walk through our doors. We’ll miss his friendship, his kindness, and that familiar face that became part of our restaurant and our lives.
Rest easy, Don. Thank you for welcoming us, for your friendship, and for the memories. You won’t be forgotten. ❤️
