🎤 The mic came back out for Don & Linda’s 50th! 💍❤️

I walked around asking everyone how long they’ve known Don & Linda and how they met them… and WOW. So many of these friendships go back 50+ years, and some have known them practically their entire lives. 🥹

We went so far back that record players and pay phones made their way into the conversations. 😂☎️🎶

And I even learned a few things myself… like the fact that Don & Linda were neighbors AND Linda was the one who asked Don to prom! ❤️ Look how well that worked out — 50 years of marriage later!

There were so many stories, so many laughs, and so many wonderful people who have been part of their lives through the years.

What an amazing day celebrating an amazing couple who are loved by SO many. ❤️

It’s going to be quite the bash at Manning’s! 🎉 We’ve got the outdoor area all roped off and ready to celebrate these two and their incredible milestone.

🎤 Class of ’79 Interviews — while my microphone was still cooperating! 😂

I had SO much fun getting a little history lesson straight from the Class of 1979 last night!

We talked about the Blizzard of ’79 ❄️, the drinking age back then 🍻, first cars 🚗, high school crushes ❤️ and plenty of other memories from their high school days.

I even got to meet their foreign exchange student from Finland 🇫🇮 who came back to celebrate with his classmates! How cool is that?!

It was so much fun hearing their stories and learning what high school was really like for the Class of ’79. Thank you all for letting me interrupt your reunion for a few minutes and ask my very important questions. 😂🎤

And yes… these interviews were taken BEFORE my microphone decided to quit on me. 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

Well, I did some VERY important investigative work with the Class of ’79 last night… 🎤😂

The main question: Did you ever skip school?

A few immediately pled the 5th. 🤐😂
A few were a little more willing to share…

Apparently some skip days involved a trip to the cemetery and some drinks 🍻 and others involved Eagle Point Park… also with some drinks. 😂

And then we had TWO classmates who said they never skipped because they knew exactly what would be waiting for them at home — chores and BIG trouble. 😂👏🏼

I had SO much fun walking around, interrupting everyone’s night for a minute, and learning some very important information about the Class of ’79. 😂❤️

Unfortunately, my brand-new microphone decided NOT to cooperate and I ended up with technical difficulties and no sound on some of my interviews. 😭 So for a few of these stories, you’re just going to have to take my word for it!

I also know there are a few classmates who are going to be VERY happy about this technical difficulty because they did NOT want to be interviewed in the first place. 🤣🤣

Thanks for being such good sports, Class of ’79! It was so much fun having you at Manning’s and learning a little more about what you were REALLY up to back in the day! 🎓🍻😂

Interviewing the Class of ’79 was fun… until I interviewed MY MOM. 😂

Me: Did you ever skip school?
Mom: Yep.
Me: And you made ME go to school?! 🤨
Mom: 😏
Me: What did you do when you skipped?
Mom: Went to Eagle Point Park.
Me: What did you do there?
Mom: Drank a fifth of whiskey. 🥃

ME: 😳😳😳 THAT’S MY MOM?!

The things you learn at a class reunion… 😂 Well… now y’all know where I get my wild side. 😂🥃❤️

Class of ’79, you guys did NOT disappoint. 😂
