With broken hearts, we share the loss of one of our beloved Meme’s Bakery Crew members, Ashlee Sumrall.

To us, she was simply “Ash.”

Ash brought kindness, creativity, laughter, and lightheartedness into our bakery every day we had the joy of working with her. She always had a smile on her face as she greeted and assisted customers and always had something encouraging to say to anyone who was down. She had a way of making everyone around her feel special. Her artistic talent was incredible, and she poured so much love into every task, cookie, and petit four she created! She earned the title of our “Petit Four Queen!”.

We will miss her smiling face (usually with powdered sugar or flour on it), her spunkiness, her sweet words of kindness, and her giggles and joy she brought to our days. She was more than an employee—she was family. The impact she made on our bakery, our team, and our customers will never be forgotten.

To allow our bakery family time to honor and celebrate Ash’s life, Meme’s Bakery will be closed all day Wednesday, June 3.

We ask that you keep Ash’s family, friends, and all who loved her in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
