But Chef Nena… what on Earth is Coq Au Vin?!

Well, it just happens to be one of my absolute favorite French recipes that I learned to make in culinary school. ❤️ 🇫🇷

Coq Au Vin (pronounced “coke-oh-van”) is a classic French comfort dish that literally means “rooster in wine.” Traditionally, it was a way of slowly braising a tougher bird in red wine until it became fall-apart tender. These days, we use chicken and slowly braise it with red wine, bacon, mushrooms, onions, herbs, and all kinds of rich, savory goodness.

Basically? It’s French comfort food. Rustic, cozy, slow-cooked and absolutely packed with flavor. It sounds fancy. It looks fancy. But at its heart, it’s just really, REALLY good food.

So consider this your chance to try a little French cuisine right here in Downtown Clifton — no passport required, and you don’t even have to know how to pronounce it. Although now you do. 😂
