Steve's Doghouse Since 1953, we've been proud to serve Cleveland some of the best comfort food in town.

Doghouse is known for two things: Classic American comfort food and laid-back, friendly service. The Steve's name has been around since 1953, when the diner was known as Steve's Lunch. In 2002, Ed bought the business, and eventually moved into the old Sal's Menu Restaurant, and that's when we became Steve's Doghouse. e and Sal! From our famous chili hot dogs and homemade soups to our hearty omelets and French toast, we serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner items that’ll satisfy everyone’s cravings. We’re also open 24 hours, so folks can end a late night out with us over a hearty meal. It is with a heavy heart we share that our beloved cook Cyndi has passed away. With a life defined by love and family, she was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister-in-law, and friend, celebrated for her remarkable cooking and generous spirit. Her presence was a beacon of hope, providing guidance, reassurance, and a listening ear. Her legacy was built on the foundation of unconditional love, with her family being the cherished center of her universe.

These are difficult and unusual times and Steve's would like to thank all of our customers and employees. WE WILL BE STAYING OPEN for TAKE-OUT ONLY as long as we are able and allowed. In 1953, some guy named Steve from Greece came to America and started a little hot dog diner on the corner of West 50th and Lorain. Since then, his original chili recipe and so many other great foods have come out of not only that door, but 2 others as well, and every single person that has crossed those thresholds have helped grow his dream into something more than anyone could have imagined. And even though that original building is gone, the love and support and happiness that has come from our patrons remains outstanding.

We thank you for these 66 amazing years and can only imagine how many more we have to go. Come enjoy some FREE cake in celebration!*
