Thank you D.M. Taylor Marcia Brown Marcella MarcieSims Johnson Ariane Kirkpatrick and multiple others for making me aware of The Hungry Black Man poetically written review of our city and my and other restaurants he encountered.
First of all, I would like to take 100% responsibility for any issues a guest ever experiences, so this is not a deflection in any means. I have been in this business for 30+ years, so I have to be always ready to fix any problems or issues that arise, but this one is hard to fix, outside of a Sincere Apology that you had to be exposed to a dirty table. Like all feedback, I also took this very seriously and immediately followed up with the staff working during your visit and then reviewed the cameras and POS myself to see where we fell short.
The Hungry Black Man entered the restaurant at 8:37PM, and was immediately set at a table. 46 seconds later he went to the restroom. After visiting the restroom for 8 minutes he returns to the table and almost immediately returns back to the restroom for another 12 minutes, before exchanging pleasantries with the hostess and exiting the restaurant.
At 8:37PM, our Busser for the evening was 2 tables over bussing a table, making his way around clearing all the tables from the dinner rush we just completed. Between 8:32-8:36 we had 5 tables that departed the restaurant and the one in your photo the guest left 1min 48sec before you entered the restaurant. The only thing left on that table was a macaroni & cheese.
So with all that being said, again I apologize that our host set you before the tables near your table was cleared. We will immediately change that procedure.
I hope one day you will have the opportunity to return and actually try the full experience and see why we provide service to approximately 2,500 guest a week and are celebrating our 15 year anniversary this year.
