I can always tell when I got a recipe just right by the way people come up to me at an event when I do t have their favorite thing on the menu that day. Reactions range from disappointment to open hostility. I especially enjoy the hostility since it feeds my black little heart. My Pecan Sandies are definitely one of these treats that elicit this sort of response. I don’t blame any of you for loving them this much. They are one of my favorites too. Pick some up at Cuyahoga Valley Farmers Market on July 4th from 9am-12pm at Howe Meadow in Cuyahoga Falls.

Packed with dried strawberries, dried blueberries and white chocolate chips, these are the perfect treat for Independence Day. Today is the day when my world's truly collide! Long before I even interviewed to be the new Director of , I had a Pride Month partnership in the works with this incredible institution.

Saturday, June 27th at 6:40 PM come see one of my favorite films by Pedro Almodóvar, LAW OF DESIRE, starring Antonio Banderas. BVH will be set up selling Brownies, Oatmeal Cream Pies and Chocolate Chip Cookies before the show. All BVH sales tonight benefit !

Before I had even applied to put my name in the running for the Director of the at the Cleveland Institute of Art, I met with the then-director about an idea I had for Pride Month. I wanted to see about partnering on a film screening fundraiser for this institution I love. I suggested showing a film by one of my favorite filmmakers, Pedro Almodóvar, and have BVH selling treats before the show. Fast forward several months and I am now the new Director of the Cinematheque at the Cleveland Institute of Art when this planned screening will be happening!
