My name is Brittany Blackman. I'm from Milton, Florida. I moved to Blount county in the summer of 2020. After a 17 year addiction to alcohol, I chose to start a different life by reaching out to Redeemed Ministries Healing & Recovery Center. I completed the women’s program and in January, I will have 6 years sober.
I'm a barber, certified herbalist, gardener/small scale homesteader, and a homeschool mom. I have been married to my husband, Christopher, for 2 1/2 years. My oldest child is a married mom of two, who lives in Milton, and my youngest is a growing boy who lives with me in AL.
My journey isn't just about sobriety and I would say, on this side of it, sobriety is the easy part for me. Learning to trust the Lord and let Him lead has been the wildest, most exciting, rewarding, yet difficult ride I have ever been on. It requires complete submission to the Lord's authority over every aspect of my life and that was always very difficult for me. As I got to know my Lord, His ways, His character and His heart, that resistance faded. If I could give one piece of advice, it would be this, know your God. Make time for Him and look for all the ways His love and faithfulness has kept you. Accept that love and be submerged in it. It will change your life.
