Meet Our Local Vendor: Mother Kombucha 🫧
Mother Kombucha was born right here in St. Petersburg, Florida, in 2014, when co-founder Tonya Donati began brewing kombucha at home. She loved how kombucha made her feel, but she wasn’t a fan of its strong, vinegary taste or the fact that so much of it was coming from outside Florida. So she set out to make a kombucha that was both delicious and refreshing enough for the Florida climate.
What started as a passion project quickly became a business. Tonya, along with co-founders Vic Donati and Joshua Rumschlag, began developing their recipes in a tiny shared kitchen and selling their kombucha at local farmers markets and independent shops around St. Pete and Tampa. Their first brewery opened in 2015, allowing them to expand production and begin bottling their brews.
Today, Mother Kombucha handcrafts small-batch kombucha using fair-trade organic teas, natural flavors, and thoughtfully sourced ingredients. They focus on creating bright, flavorful kombuchas that are low in sugar and calories while still tasting great. Their commitment to doing good goes beyond the bottle too, with practices like composting spent tea and cultures with local community gardens and using solar power at their St. Pete facility.
We’re proud to partner with a Florida-born company that started small, stayed rooted in its community, and continues to put good into every batch. 🌴🫧
