Yesterday at the The Market Marie I made a big “coffee truck CEO decision” to refuse payment from a customer. Not because there was anything wrong, but because from a short conversation prior to opening for the day, I discovered he works directly with a team of Navy Seals that have dedicated their lives to tracking and hunting child s*x traffickers domestically within the United States. 🫡

This gentlemen is a business man that organizes and fundraises through other organizations and fellow businessmen to facilitate their mission. As he put it “I consider myself a pretty alpha guy but these guys make me look like a total ________.” I’ve tried to get more hands on but all they will let me do is the office stuff” 😂

After a bit of fighting over paying us he finally caved in to my insistence but then pulled out this super crisp two dollar bill and said “at least let me give you this bill, turn it over, it’s the best” ( I already knew immediately what it was, this is actually my favorite bill) at this point I knew I had a like minded spirit before me.

Later one of the baristas alerted me that they saw him also slip something in the tip jar outside. At the end of the day while digging through all the generous tips she found a $20 bill, clearly it was this sneaky gentlemen.

Anyway, this was a great encounter and I really love that we get to meet so many great new faces within our community from our little rolling cafe. I love that we can align forces with kindred spirits like this gentlemen and organization, which I will speak more of in the future with a proper introduction.

Don’t know if latte art is a therapy or an addiction at this point. 🚐☕️🙌🏻
