Serendipity Cafe

It’s hard to believe this was two years ago, but we remember it like it was yesterday. We spent the next 18 months trying to figure out why this was happening and wondering how we were going to accomplish everything that needed to happen to be able to reopen.

Looking back, we can see how divine intervention stepped in, allowing us to turn Serendipity into the vision we had from the beginning. It is now a place where people can sit down for a moment to relax, eat a meal, and visit. It really was a serendipitous experience. ✨💜

🌧️ Rain, rain, go away... 🌧️

The recent storms got the best of our ceiling, so we are CLOSED today (Saturday, September 26th), to handle some emergency leak repairs. We want to make sure everything is completely safe before we welcome you back inside!

Stay dry out there, and we will see you all Monday with some brand new food and drink items!!! 👋

We learned today that Daylight Donuts at the Way Station will no longer be coming to Clay Center. We have had the honor of working alongside them for several years, and we are deeply grateful for their partnership. They are true friends of our business—they even stood by us and continued showing up with smiling faces during our long, messy construction!

While we are truly saddened to see this chapter come to an end, we want to wish their entire team the absolute best in all of their future endeavors. They have brought so much sweetness to our community, and they will be greatly missed.

Let’s send them off with a true Serendipity goodbye! Please join us in the comments below to share your favorite memories, thank them for their years of dedication, and wish them well. 🍩💜

A final note of gratitude to our amazing community... 💜

As you might have noticed, the misleading posts circulating about our business yesterday have now been deleted.

While we are relieved to put this situation behind us, a final comment left by the poster revealed that this entire public attack was an intentional, coordinated attempt to damage our reputation. It is always deeply disappointing when people resort to targeted harassment and false rumors rather than lifting each other up.

However, what started as an attempt to hurt our business ended up showing us the true, beautiful heart of our Serendipity family. The overwhelming support, private messages of encouragement, and your willingness to stand up for the truth reminded us exactly why we chose to plant our roots, buy our home, and invest our lives here. We have even received support from people we have never even met!

We also want to repeat our support for Barb Barnett. Our public servants should never be harassed or used as pawns in local drama.

We choose to look forward, not backward. We run our cafe with honesty, hard work, and love for our neighbors, and that will never change.

Our doors will be open bright and early on Monday morning and we can’t wait to see you all. Thank you for having our backs!
