It’s Friday again… which means it’s time for our Name This Torte & Win a Slice ✨

This week, the honor of creating our Gluten-Free Torte of the Week went to our beautiful Jazmyn, and she had a little fun with this one.

Introducing this weekend’s gluten-free Pumpkin White Chocolate Torte 🎃

Built on our gluten-free white cookie base with layers of gluten-free white sponge, this torte has a pumpkin cream cheese filling on the bottom and top layers.

In the middle, she added a white chocolate chunk filling with whipped cream, giving it that creamy fall-meets-white-chocolate kind of flavor.

On the outside, she finished it with whipped cream, a little orange and brown coloring, and the sweetest pumpkin decoration on top.

It’s playful, creamy, very fall, and just a little bit silly in the best way.

It’s Friday, and it’s time for lunch 😊

No matter what you’re in the mood for today, we’ve got something good waiting for you.

Maybe it’s one of our big schnitzel sandwiches, a Reuben, a Mediterranean sandwich from us, or something else from the Cafe menu that sounds just right once you get here.

Come in hungry, grab a table, and let us make lunch easy for you today.

And of course, don’t forget to stop by the Deli before you leave for fresh bread, pastries, meats, cheeses, and a few good things to take home for the weekend.

It’s one of those cloudy September days where something warm and cozy sounds pretty good.

So if you’re coming in for breakfast, lunch, coffee, cake, or just something good to brighten the day a little, we’re here for you.

And for lunch, maybe our schnitzel with creamy Brie and mushroom sauce might be something for you today.

We make our schnitzel from scratch, hand-breaded with eggs and breadcrumbs, then served with that rich, creamy Brie and mushroom sauce on top. You can choose your side, and of course, Golden Fries are always an option too.

This one here is served with German potato salad and one of our handmade Brötchen.

We’re getting the bread day started 🥖

Essie and Jenna are working on the first doughs for tomorrow, and this is where it all begins.

The mixing, the sourdough, the shaping, the resting, the long process that continues through the day and into the night before the breads are baked fresh and ready for you tomorrow.

This is the part you don’t always see when you walk into our Deli and find the bread shelves full, but it is the part that makes all the difference.

And for today, we do have day-old breads available in our Deli at 20% off, so come by, pick up a loaf, and enjoy a little fresh-bread goodness at home.

It’s getting to be lunchtime here at Silke’s 😊

So when you stop by our Cafe for lunch today, be sure to make the very short trip over to our Deli too.

And when we say short trip, we mean right out of the Cafe, up the steps, across the covered porch, around the corner, and there you are at our Deli door.

Our bread shelves were beautifully full this morning, and even though they have already been loved on quite a bit, there is still plenty for you to choose from.

We have fresh breads, rolls, sourdoughs, German breads, sandwich breads, and all kinds of goodness to take home for later.

Come for lunch and leave with some bread also.

We think that sounds like a pretty good plan for a rainy Tuesday! ❤️

Happy Monday from us at Silke’s ✨

I wanted to share this beautiful little moment from our pastry team.

This is Mia, who is learning the pastry craft with us, holding this beautiful creamy apricot cake with a light sponge that we created together this past weekend.

And I love sharing these kinds of moments with you, because this is really what makes everything so special here.

So much of what we do is about creating from scratch by hand, teaching, learning, caring deeply about the art of creation, and bringing something beautiful to our community.

It is moments like this that tell the story of what happens here every day.

It’s Friday again… which means it’s time for our Name This Torte & Win a Slice ✨

This week, the honor of creating our Gluten-Free Torte of the Week went to our beautiful Jazmyn, and she created this absolutely lovely Honey Almond Brittle Torte.

Built on our gluten-free vanilla cookie base with three layers of gluten-free white sponge, this torte begins with a layer of our almond brittle crumbled onto the cookie base, the same kind of brittle we use on top of our Bee Sting Cake.

The sponge layers are soaked with honey syrup, then filled on the bottom and top layers with a honey cream filling made with whipped cream, cream, and honey.

In the middle, there is a rich almond filling made with almond paste, cream cheese, and cream, bringing that beautiful almond flavor into the center.

Finished with fresh whipped cream and pieces of honey almond brittle on top, this is one of those sweet, creamy, almond-rich tortes that feels classic, golden, and absolutely made for this time of year.

Good morning from us at Silke’s 🍔

Our Deli and Cafe are open, and breakfast is ready for you this morning.

But in case you’re already thinking about lunch, here’s a pretty good idea.

Featured here is our Classic Pub Burger, made with our 6 oz premium pub beef patty, cheddar cheese, tomatoes, onions, and lettuce, served on our handmade brioche bun with your choice of side.

And of course, you can make it your own. Go classic, add sautéed mushrooms and Swiss, choose Golden Fries on the side, or ask us about our other burger options too.

We also have vegetarian and vegan burgers, because lunch should work for what you’re hungry for.

Happy Wednesday from us at Silke’s 🍕

Today feels like a pizza kind of day.

And yes, you can absolutely get creative with it. Pick one of our pizzas from the menu, or build your own and add from our ingredients if you want to be a little more free-spirited with your lunch.

Extra veggies, more cheese, meat, no meat, vegetarian, gluten-free cauliflower crust, or whatever combination sounds good to you today. We’ll make it your way.
