Three long years ago to this date, you all joined us in welcoming Bahama Buck’s not only to Clarksville, but to Tennessee. Our opening night was one for the books. Each day this community showed us love and allowed us the privilege of not just serving up The Greatest Sno on Earth, but often wonderful memories and traditions alike. Thank you, Clarksville. Did you know that in the last 365 days, we served you 52,484 Shaved Ice’s, 15,310 Smoothies, 5,616 Bahama Soda’s and 4,035 Redbull Infusions? What. An. Honor!
It is with a somber heart and a heavy head that I announce I have made the decision to close Bahama Bucks on Tiny Town Rd permanently and it’s last day of operation will be August 31st, 2026.
This endeavor gave me a new breath of life after trying to find my place in the world after a lengthy career in the Army. It gave me a sense of purpose, a new drive, immense appreciation, and a deep sense of honor to bring smiles to peoples faces by something as simple Flavor.
The hard truth is, I should have made this decision months ago. The cost of keeping the doors open has reached too far into our personal account over the past year and a half and through this difficult economy where people have to make tougher decisions on how to spend their money all the while the cost of goods continually rising due to global economic impacts.
It’s hard to admit defeat. It’s hard to look yourself in the mirror and be proud of failing. The last few days, as I’ve come to this decision and spoke with our family here, have been painful. I’ve been sad, I’ve been angry, I’ve been depressed to where I haven’t wanted to get up. A place I’d hoped my grandkids would one day have their first job at, a place that you could pop in and see folks off their devices and deep into conversation or a board game with friends and family, a place that the community knew would always come to help in times of difficulties, and a place where a large number of Clarksville’s youth called their first job.
Please allow us to continue to serve you through the remainder of the month. Stop by and show the Avalanche Crew some love. They’re as dedicated to seeing this through as I am. The evening of August 31st you will find me in the shop working alongside the crew finding it an honor to refresh our guests one last time, one last night, one last “Welcome to Buck’s!” and one last “Thank you, Clarksville”.
I’m Sorry.
