There’s no holiday for the rancher but we are so grateful to live this life even when nature is not kind with droughts then the coming winter weather. Happy Thanksgiving! When you’re tired of turkey…call us to get your home grown right here on the ranch with no pesticides, herbicides, added hormones or antibiotics. Your choice- grain finished or grass finished.

PSA. This is Myoglobin.

Myoglobin is a protein in beef that stores oxygen in muscle cells.

This is NOT blood. When beef is harvested, all its blood is drained out. Myoglobin is responsible for giving the beef on the store shelf, that beautiful red and fresh color we like. It’s also important to note that environmental factors can change the color. It’s why beef turns brown when it’s cooked. ☺️
Just because beef doesn’t look the same, doesn’t mean it’s an inferior or superior product.
