A little preview of what our Community Coffee Fridays have looked like. We have been so grateful to connect with our community every other Friday and showcase some unique and special coffees from all over the world. The last two weeks have been unique as we featured some exclusive experimental coffees as a preview of what is to come on the shelves at Lucky’s, and sometimes coffees that perhaps don’t always make it to the bar or are on different brewing methods.

Tastings give people an opportunity to try coffees without a commitment of a bag, or even the fear of perhaps not liking it, we believe tastings give our community a chance to get to know us and who we are as a roaster in the quality we serve and people we are.

Not only do we do these out of the passion of our hearts, we do them for free. Our production team takes a portion out of their week to spend with our community. We believe if we can educate our community in what matters most to us, that will create a real impact for those who deserve the recognition at origin.

We are excited to announce our classes with our farmers and friends from Undugu Farms. A few years ago, we partnered we some of our farmers and friends from Peru to fundraise and bring awareness to the challenges that people face at origin in relation to the coffee industry today.

This month, we are partnering with our friends at Undugu Farms to discuss and talk about Kenyan Coffee and the culture, farming practices, and different challenges farmers face. In this class, we will also discuss about relationship and realities of sustainability that farmers are also facing in our industry.

The class is in person at our roastery, and joining us and helping lead the class is Kimiti, who works on a day to day basis in Kenya on the field via Zoom. He will be able to answer questions and go into detail about the class as we discuss farming processes, purchasing, origin, and more!

The class is $35, and all proceeds go to our farmers who we are working with to provide better equipment for their farming or coffee cupping experiences, and more. With the class, you will be able to take home a coffee from Rhino Farms (Jacob Kibiri) or Mumu Estate, a few coffees we currently sell.

We’re excited! We’re doing some beautifications to our space this coming week. As we have grown so much, we are grateful to everyone who has been part of what we are doing.

We will still be open everyday, but on Wednesday and Thursday next week, we will be closing just a little earlier at 1pm.

We will also be opening just a little earlier 7/8-7/9, so come visit us early morning at 6:30am.
