This weekend I was reminded of how special it is to be a part of my customers lives. I’ve been a part of birthdays, special events, graduations, college graduations, proposals, marriages and babies. The list could go on and on. The happiness it has brought to my life is such a blessing Spinning sugar and flour is my specialty - Thank You for allowing me to be a part of your lives.

I have traveled all around the state of Texas with a cake in tow for special occasions. Out of state the furthest I had traveled was Phoenix, Az. But this August I had the privilege to travel 1,817 miles to Washington State and be a part of Sister Diane’s 40th Anniversary of taking her Perpetual Vows. It was such an honor to be a part of my cousins special day and so grateful that my sister Lynda and I could make the trip. Thank You for everything Perales Family and Lynda I will forever be humbled for all you did for me. Where to now? I have cake and will travel. 😍

20 yrs ago today, I started helping my Mom bake and decorate cakes. It has been a journey of learning. It began with watching my mom’s every move while she decorated cakes and listening to what she had to teach me. Then I read books and eventually trial and error. And there have been lots of those. We are whipping sugar and butter together and sometimes it’s a coin toss if the weather or sweat doesn’t get to my creation. And regardless of the years I have garnered that exact thing happened recently. But each and every creation has been worth the effort. For me my art is relaxing, there are times I work in quiet mode with no background noise and sometimes I need that extra noise to push me through. But always Thanking God for the health to continue and my Mommy for the talent she gave me. Without those two power houses I wouldn’t be able to have done my art for so long. So Thank You to all my customers for the last 20 years - for allowing me to be a part of your special occasion however small or big they have meant the world to my family and I. Here’s to many more years of SWEETNESS!!
