🐴☀️ What a way to kick off horse show season!

This weekend was our first horse show of the year and Northern Ohio Saddle Clubs’ very first horse show! We had the pleasure of serving food, seeing familiar faces (and lots of new ones), and today we got to hang out with one of the most well-known horse show celebrities around—Aria! 🐶❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to see us this weekend at the Brewster Fireman’s Festival and at this weekend’s horse show. We truly appreciate the support from each and every one of you. Your support means the world to our small family business! ❤️

The first few shows of the season have been a success, and we can’t wait for all the events still to come. Stay tuned to see where we’ll be next! ☀️🎡

(The youngest of the family crew 👏)

Bret has been around the fairs since he was little and has grown up right alongside Hanacek’s Concessions 🎡

Nowadays, you’ll usually find him helping out by doing potty breaks in the stands or hanging around the fair with his friends 😅

🎓 Big news: Bret graduates high school this month and plans to head away to school to make the big bucks fixing airplanes ✈️💰

Meet: Nancy 💛
(The woman who helped build it all 👏)

It didn’t feel right ending our crew spotlights without honoring someone who meant so much to Hanacek’s Concessions 🎡

Nancy was John’s wife and was there helping him build the business from the very beginning. Through the years, she helped grow Hanacek’s into what it is today with endless hard work, love, and dedication.

While working at the Cleveland State Law Library, she would leave work and head straight to the fairs to help John however she could. After retiring from CSU in 2005, she joined him at the fairs full time and continued being such a huge part of the business and the memories made there 💛

Unfortunately, we lost Nancy in 2023 after her third battle with cancer.

This will be our third season without her, and honestly, it still doesn’t feel normal. But we know she’s with us at every fair, every stand, and every memory we continue to make 🎡✨

Thank you for everything, Nancy 💛

Kalib has been with Hope for 2 years and is heading into his 3rd season at the the fairs 🎡

He’s become a big part of the team, especially in the candy store—where you’ll usually find him talking with customers and keeping the good vibes going 🍭

💛 Favorite part of the job: Keeping the family tradition alive and connecting with everyone who stops by

He might not have started in the business, but he’s definitely become part of the family 💛

The Old Fashioned Candy Store will be at the Brewster Fireman’s Festival May 27–30 and we can’t wait to see all of you!!

Come out for all your favorite sweet treats, rides, live music, fireworks, and all the fun all weekend long!

Meet: Hope 💛
(The next generation 👏)

Hope is Jill’s daughter and part of the next generation carrying on the Hanacek’s Concessions legacy 🎡

She’s been working the fairs full time since she was just 6 years old, growing up right alongside the stands and learning everything that goes into it.

💛 Favorite part of the job: Seeing familiar faces come back year after year and hearing stories from customers—especially the ones who now bring their grandkids after coming as kids themselves 🥹
🍔 Favorite menu item: Steak Sandwich fully loaded (she was eating just the steak before she even had teeth 😂)
🍭 Fun fact: She used to work at a nursing home, but now she can’t imagine doing anything other than being at the fairs full time
📱 Bonus: She’s also the one behind the Hanacek’s Concessions social media pages 👀

Being part of continuing her grandpa’s traditions and creating those same memories for new generations is what it’s all about 💛🎡

Make sure to say hi when you stop by—you’ll probably catch her right in the middle of it all! 👏✨

(One of the guys who keeps things moving 👏)

Andy has been part of the Hanacek’s Concessions crew for the last 2 years, jumping in at the fairs and helping wherever he’s needed 🎡

Whether it’s working the stand, keeping things stocked, or handling the rush, he’s always right in the middle of the action making sure things run smoothly.

He and Jill have been together for 3 years, and over time he’s become a big part of the family—and the business 💛

🍩 Favorite menu item: Donut Burger or the Steak Sandwich
😂 Fun fact: He started out in the fair business when he was just 11 years old!

Make sure to say hi when you stop by—there’s a good chance Andy will be right there in the thick of it 🔥🎡
