After reading all of your comments and messages, I found myself overwhelmed with emotion. Gratitude, sadness, and even a sense of guilt all came together, and I honestly could not hold back my tears.

I needed some time to quietly take it all in and collect my thoughts.

I even thought about opening the restaurant for one final week and serving everyone for free—just as a small way of saying thank you for all the love and support you have given us over the past 12 years. Unfortunately, because of several practical circumstances and limitations, I was not able to make that happen. I am truly sorry that I could not give you the kind of final goodbye that I wished I could.

Reading your words made me realize once again that what we built together was much more than a restaurant. It was a place filled with relationships, memories, laughter, kindness, and love.

The restaurant has closed, but I truly believe our relationships have not ended. They will simply continue in a new way, wherever life takes us.

To everyone who supported us, encouraged us, shared your lives with us, and made these 12 years so meaningful—thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I will carry your kindness with me wherever I go.

Once again, thank you all, truly.

Dear Stone Bowl Restaurant Friends,

Twelve years ago, my wife and I opened this restaurant with a simple hope: to serve healthy, beautiful food and to become a meaningful part of this community.

Today, after 12 years, we have officially closed our doors.

It is difficult to put into words what these years have meant to us. This restaurant was never just a business. It became a part of our family and a part of our lives.

During these 12 years, my wife and I raised our two children while running this restaurant. Many of you watched our family grow, and we watched yours grow as well. Customers became familiar faces, familiar faces became friends, and some of you came to feel like family. You celebrated with us during the good times and helped us keep going through the difficult ones.

We will especially never forget the COVID years. It was a time when we could barely see or touch one another, when there was so much uncertainty, fear, and even loss of life around us. Like so many small businesses, we did not know what the future would bring. But somehow, we kept going. We truly believe we could not have made it through that time without your support, encouragement, and kindness.

Four years ago, my wife accepted a job in another state, and since then our family has been temporarily living apart. We did our best to make it work, but now the time has come for us to close this chapter, reunite our family, and begin the next one together.

So, we are not only saying goodbye to our restaurant. We are also saying goodbye to a community that has been our home for longer than the places we originally came from.

We leave with so many memories and with this place deeply rooted in our hearts.

To everyone who walked through our doors, shared a meal with us, brought your family and friends, offered a kind word, gave us advice, laughed with us, worried about us, and sometimes simply treated our restaurant as a second home—thank you.

There are no words that can fully express our gratitude.

I believe that wherever life takes us, and however far apart we may be, we remain connected by the kindness we have shared with one another. We will carry with us all the love, understanding, encouragement, and friendship you have given our family over these 12 years.

As we begin again in a new place, we hope to pass that kindness forward—to treat others with the same warmth and generosity that you have shown us.

Thank you for being part of our restaurant.
Thank you for being part of our family’s story.
And most of all, thank you for giving us a place that we will always be able to call home.

We will miss you more than we can say.

Wherever life takes each of us, we hope you stay healthy, happy, and surrounded by people you love.

With our deepest gratitude and love,

Young and Misook
