Sometimes I sit for hours upon hours reflecting on the journey. Looking through photos. Experiencing & writing the story before my own eyes.
The beginnings.
The highs, the lows, and all of the in between.
Lately I’ve heard a lot of guests and friends asking “well, what’s next? What’s next in store for Mom ‘n ‘em?”
I take pause, and hear ourselves saying more and more in reply…. “To maintain. To continue to be consistent. To continue to give you the best hospitality, service, food, and coffee 364 days out of the year”
When do we know when enough is enough?
When does one stand to look at what is front of them and say “We’re full?”
It is indeed exciting to always start something new, but I will tell you what’s even better….to be so good at what you do you become the fixture. The neighborhood spot. The place where you watch generations grow. To do it again tomorrow, and the day after that!
I think above all, I sit and think wow, 7 years. It’s all about the process, and trusting it. The process, the consistency, the sheer love for what we do here at our little cafes!
Of course, it’s just the beginning of the book for us, and I am sure there will be plenty more to come, but it brings so much joy to sit back sometimes and look at (and enjoy) all that we have done.
And no, it’s not our anniversary, it’s just another piece of our journal I’m writing in from July of 2026 to share with all of you.
