Bob Peters, founder and owner of Preferred Fire Protection, was not only a valued customer, but also a close friend of our owners and someone loved by the entire Silver Spring House team.
For as long as we can remember, Bob spent most Friday nights with us, sitting at the same reserved table alongside his wife and great group of friends, enjoying his usual Chardonnay (or a Bud Light) and giving all of us a hard time throughout the evening. There was never a shortage of laughter when Bob was around — he brought so much personality and joy into every room he entered.
Thanks to his wonderful wife Liz, he was always referred to as “Bob Peters,” and never just Bob.
Bob Peters was also incredibly generous, always supporting our fundraisers and SSH events. One of our favorite memories was his willingness to participate in our dunking booth fundraiser for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, showing up in an all-pink outfit and life jacket to help us raise money — all while heckling everyone who threw a ball.
The Peters family’s connection to The Spring House runs deep. Not only are they longtime regulars, but two of their three children also worked at The Spring House over the years. The Peters family will always hold a very special and treasured place in the heart of The Silver Spring House.

Preferred Fire Protection installs all types of fire protection systems in all types of buildings and businesses. Whether it be a hospital, data center, nursing home, restaurant or industrial plant, we have you covered with the latest cutting-edge fire protection technology. Every system we install, service or inspect is done by a trained union sprinkler fitter who goes through a 5 year apprenticeship program and holds their own state licenses that they must test for on their own to ensure that whatever task they are performing they are doing it with quality and efficiency in mind.

We are one of the few family owned / independent companies still around in the tri-state area.
🔴 What’s one thing you’re really proud of as a team?
The loyalty we all have towards the company and our customers. There have been many rough and uncertain times that our team members could have jumped ship but they chose to stay and work through it.
We are incredibly thankful to have Carl Eifert as VP and Randy Winter as Superintendent step up and seamlessly lead operations for Preferred Fire Protection during such a difficult time following Bob’s passing. Thank you to Carl, Randy and our entire team for continuing to move things forward with the same dedication and heart Bob Peters brought every day — we know he would be deeply proud.
