Well… I definitely didn’t think our logo would go more viral than our food. 😂
A lot of people have been asking why we rebranded, so here’s the short version.
When The Green Ape first opened, I genuinely didn’t know our original logo was AI-generated until it was pointed out in comments on social media…And honestly, a lot of other people didn’t either. That alone showed me how many people (myself included at the time) weren’t fully educated on the conversation around AI-generated art.
As I learned more about the amount of energy and water many AI systems require and how it effects the overall environment along with the concerns surrounding AI-generated art and artists’ work, I realized it no longer aligned with my values or the mission behind The Green Ape.
What wasn’t easy was changing it overnight. s/o to Cárson Crazé © for creating our new design completely A.I. free.
Rebranding takes time. Designing a new logo, updating signage, menus, packaging, marketing, and everything in between doesn’t happen in a week. But the work started as soon as I realized it no longer aligned with our values.
So no, we didn’t rebrand because people bullied us into it. We rebranded because when I learn something that changes my perspective, I believe in taking accountability and making changes that reflect who I am and what I stand for.
I hope this encourages people to lead with education instead of assumptions. We don’t always get it right the first time, but we can always choose to do better once we know better!!!
Now… can we get back to the good vegan food😭🫶🏽🙏🏽 Thank you!!! 🦍♥️🫶🏽
