Due to the flooding, the closure of the Causeway and Maddox Boulevard, and the Town’s recommendation that people do not travel, Don’s Seafood Chincoteague will be closed today.

The safety of our employees and customers comes first. We hope everyone stays safe, stays inside, and rides out the remainder of the storm safely.

We’ll be back open tomorrow for Chicken & Dumplings! We look forward to seeing everyone when the roads are safe and the storm has passed.

Don’s Seafood will be closed tonight.

With the tide coming in later this evening and the potential for a causeway closure, we’ve decided it’s best to put our employees first and close for the night.

We lucked out last night with the causeway reopening just as we were finishing up, but tonight we won’t be taking that chance. Our staff’s safety comes first, and we appreciate your understanding.

We’ll be back open this Friday, Saturday & Sunday from noon–9 PM!

Every year we get asked the same question… “Why are you closed during Pony Swim week?”

The answer is simple—it’s a family tradition.

Don’s Seafood is a third-generation, locally owned and operated restaurant, and our original owner was a true Saltwater Cowboy. Long before the crowds arrived each summer, he closed the restaurant so he could take part in the Pony Swim festivities, and we’ve proudly continued that tradition ever since.

We love celebrating one of Chincoteague’s most cherished events with our family, friends, and community. Thank you for understanding and helping us keep this special tradition alive.

We will be CLOSED Monday through Thursday.

We’ll reopen Friday through Sunday from 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM, and we can’t wait to welcome you back for your favorite seafood!
