After feedback from some of our guests, we decided to increase the amount of cheese on our Bianca pizza! This new variation has been a huge hit…it starts with our cold-ferment sourdough, garlic confit olive oil, fresh mozzarella, provolone, Amish Gouda and white cheddar, with a final sprinkle of Parmesan, garlic and herbs. As always, cheese with no fillers or additives.

PRO TIP: Add a side of our pesto drizzle to dip the crust into. It is divine 🤤

🍕 NEW: Ultra-Thin and Crispy Pizza! 🍕

Chef Joe's been working on this one for months (if you call working "eating pizza every day for breakfast in the name of research) and we’re finally ready to share it with you! Also, I'm joking, he works insanely hard.

Introducing our elevated take on classic Columbus-style pizza: square-cut, heavier on the toppings, and built on a ridiculously thin sourdough crust (just 0.052" thick when it hits the brick oven — thinner than a dime!). It’s ultra-crispy, light, and still sturdy enough for all the good stuff on top.

We’re talking our scratch-made sauce + a melty, stretchy blend of mozzarella, provolone, Amish white cheddar, and gouda.

This is a test run before my husband competes with this style in October, so we need your feedback! What do you think? Too thin? Just right? More cheese? Hit us with your thoughts.

🎂 Happy Birthday to our sweet little Izzy! 🎂

Today our youngest is 3 years old. We are outrageously blessed with the family we have been given, to love and to nurture.

• Phone orders are still welcome (our phone is ON!), but the team is often helping guests in-house, so there may be a short wait — just real life at a small, family-owned spot.

I didn't even realize today was International Family Day (I promise!) when I typed this but it's so fitting...

I was chatting with a friend today about food choices and my “why” came up:

This isn’t about performance, trends, or keeping up with anyone else. For me, it’s deeply personal; Getting to know my great-grandma and grandparents — feeling their love, learning their stories and lost skills — has been one of life’s greatest gifts.

I picture my kids growing up, having families of their own someday, and those children having their own, and I want to be there for all of it. Playing tag, lifting them up so they can “walk on the ceiling like Spiderman,” maybe coaching a team or two and later helping my (great) grandbabies thrive. My great grandma graced us all the way to 103. That kind of longevity and joy is the legacy I’m after. I want to be there. Present. Involved. For as long as possible.

I know I'm not the only one. That’s why at Lievita in Chillicothe, Ohio, we’re committed to using nutritious, quality ingredients. I realize we were put on the pizza map, but even as we grow, we won’t change what we do unless it makes the food even healthier. I want to be part of something I feel good about.

We may not be every single meal, and there are more pieces to this puzzle than food alone, but we’re proud to be one of your conscious choices.

A few updates for you, Lievita Fam:

- Because of the wonderful demand you’ve been bringing our way, we’ve hired a fantastic group of new team members. They’re still training hard, but they’re already doing such a great job and we couldn’t be more excited to have them on board.

- Our phones are ON so we can take care of your special requests and make sure every guest feels truly cared for. Just a heads-up though — if the kitchen gets busy (which we love!), we may need to pause phone orders to keep everything coming out hot and fresh.

- You can order online at eatlievita.com until 5 PM daily.

- We’ve read every single piece of feedback you’ve shared — the good, the constructive, all of it. We talk about it as a team and keep making little improvements. I even fixed a few kinks on the new website to make it easier for you.

- If you ever want to reach the owners directly, just email [email protected]. We do work in the business full time, so please allow us time to respond. We are not a corporate conglomerate that has an entire department dedicated to this. And we care a lot more than they do because every single interaction is our livelihood at stake.

I started out venting about a few things that felt unfair. And then I deleted it. Sometimes you just have to do that process. After I let that go, I chose to think upon all the marvelous things God has given and has in store for us. So instead, my post is this:

My Lievita Team, you are amazing. Many of you have come to us saying that you felt you were sent for a reason. I believe that. You have made me a better/stronger person and you make a difference in the world.

I'm grateful for my husband. Thank you for working so many hours with the hope of one day having control over your time, changing the route of our future and enabling me to spend time with the kids. As you always tell me, your best is enough.

Thank you to all of our amazing guests, many of whom I now call friends, quietly rooting for us and sharing us with your loved ones. That is truly special. Thank you for feedback, the positive and the negative. Thank you for accountability.

Thank you to my family, who helps us behind the scenes, offers advice and sacrifices their time and resources to help. I love you.

I have no sales pitch for you today. And I don't believe in painting picture-perfect posts where we hide the fact that we're humans, doing our best to love and serve others. This journey has been hard.

I'll try to post more. I've been training, fixing recipes/processes, etc, to keep up with the increased demand.

If this post had one purpose, it would be that someone is encouraged and feels seen in their struggles. I'm rooting for you. Don't forget to count your blessings.
