Spent some time getting the patio ready for fall šŸ‚ Planted mums and ornamental kale, cleaned things up a bit, and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.

I love changing the garden with the seasons — even if it usually involves more dirt and hauling things around than I anticipate. šŸ˜‚

Things Are Getting Spooky

October has arrived, and apparently the bakery got the memo. Halloween treats are starting to take over the pastry case, pumpkin favorites are making their return, and Halloween preorders are officially open. Consider this your permission to start celebrating a full month early.

Spooky Season Starts Here šŸ‘»

Then on Sunday, Pumpkin CanelƩ returns with our classic rum custard getting the fall treatment with pumpkin purƩe and pumpkin spice.

And because it wouldn't be the weekend without focaccia: this weekend we're going breakfast with egg, bacon, tomato, and herbs.

And before we completely surrender to pumpkins and apples: Sunday is the final day for our Plum Galette. One last taste of stone fruit season before we say goodbye.

Halloween Preorders Are Open! šŸŽƒ

Planning a Halloween party, need treats for the office, or just want to make sure your favorites don't disappear before you get to the bakery? Halloween preorders are now open at Floriole.com.

Along with the Candy Bar Tart and Rice Krispie Mummies, our hand-decorated Halloween sugar cookies are back in black cats, witch hats, ghosts, spiderwebs and more. Head to our preorder shop to get your Halloween treats sorted early.

Thank you, as always, for supporting Floriole and our team. We love getting to make all these slightly ridiculous—and very delicious—things for you.

If Floriole is one of your favorite neighborhood spots, we'd be so grateful if you'd leave us a 5-star Google review. It helps new customers discover us and makes a meaningful difference for our small business.

See you this weekend!

Our ā€œPBā€ & J Paris-Brest šŸ‡šŸ„œ

A choux pastry wheel filled with silky hazelnut pralinƩ cream, zippy Concord grape jam made with Mick Klug Farm grapes, and crunchy toasted hazelnuts.

The Paris-Brest was created in France in honor of the Paris-to-Brest bicycle race—hence its signature wheel shape. Ours takes a little detour through the Midwest, inspired by that very American classic: PB&J.

French pastry, Midwest fruit, lunchbox nostalgia.

Two Days, Two Good Reasons to Visit

Fall has officially found its way into the Floriole kitchen. This weekend we’re playing with Concord grapes, sweet potatoes, apples, and even a little Halloween candy-bar inspiration. And because apparently we couldn’t put all the fun on one day, Saturday and Sunday each have their own special pastry.

Weekend Highlights:

Hello, Apple Season šŸŽ

Peaches have had a very good run, but we’re officially making the turn toward fall. Apple c***r is now in the grab-and-go, apples are arriving, and we’re ready for all the cozy things that come next.

Eat a Sandwich, Support Kitchen Possible

There’s still time to eat lunch for a good cause! For the entire month of September, we’re donating $1 to Kitchen Possible (https://www.kitchenpossible.org/) for every Parisian and Diplomat sold.

Kitchen Possible is an amazing local organization helping kids build confidence and an empowered mindset through learning to cook. Order a sandwich, support their work—it’s that easy.

Thank you, as always, for supporting Floriole, our team, and the farmers and producers behind what we make. Every pastry, loaf, sandwich, and cup of coffee you buy keeps this little bakery humming along.

And if you love Floriole, would you take a minute to leave us a 5-star Google review? It helps new customers find us and makes a real difference for our small business.

See you this weekend!

The first tastes of fall are here

It’s happening. The menu is making its turn toward fall, and this weekend apples are leading the way. Fresh-pressed c***r from Mick Klug Farm arrives Friday, we’ve turned it into a very Floriole version of an Apple Arnold Palmer, and Saturday’s focaccia is loaded with roasted fall vegetables and cheese. Come hungry.

Weekend Highlights:

Elsewhere in the case, Apple Butter Financiers have been selling quickly, our Honey Pecan Sticky Buns are still here for Honey Month, and Lentil Soup is on the savory menu this week.

Thank you, as always, for supporting Floriole, our team, and the local farmers and producers who make this seasonal menu possible. And if you love what we do, please consider leaving us a 5-star Google review. It helps more people find us and means a lot to our little bakery.

We’re leaning into fall

September is doing that lovely in-between thing: we’re still holding onto the last few weeks of peach shortcakes, but soup is coming back, the freezer is filling with ratatouille, and the menu is starting to look decidedly more fall-ish. We’re not rushing summer out the door—but we’re also not going to argue with soup season.

Three things to eat this week:

A little more honey, please

We couldn’t celebrate Honey Month without a drink, and the Honey Cardamom Latte has become a staff favorite: house-made honey-cardamom syrup with Metric espresso and your choice of milk, hot or iced.

You’ll also find spinach & goat cheese quiche in the case and house-made ratatouille in the Floriole freezer for an easy dinner at home. Consider the freezer your secret weapon for nights when cooking dinner sounds like an unreasonable request.

Our menu will continue moving toward fall over the next few weeks—and we’re already dreaming up a few Halloween treats. This Wednesday, our kitchen team is also heading to Green City Market, connecting with the farmers and producers who inspire so much of what we make throughout the seasons.

Thank you for supporting Floriole, our team, and the local farms that make our food possible. If you love what we do, we’d be grateful if you’d leave us a 5-star Google review. It really does help new people discover our little bakery.

See you this week,

A Very Challah Weekend

Rosh Hashanah is here, which means our bakers are up to their elbows in Apple Raisin Challah. We’ll have loaves available for walk-in purchase all weekend and into next week, alongside a few Honey Month favorites that deserve a little extra attention. Come hungry—and come early if challah is on your list.

Three things to try right now:

And for something savory, our vegetable quiche has changed to Summer Squash & Goat Cheese, available now.

Your Lunch Does a Little Good This Month

Shanah Tovah!

Rosh Hashanah preorder pickups begin Friday, and Apple Raisin Challah will continue to be available in the bakery into next week. To everyone celebrating, we wish you a happy and sweet new year!

September also means Honey Month, so we’ll continue celebrating one of our favorite ingredients throughout the month.

Thank you for supporting Floriole, our team, our local farmers and producers, and community organizations like Kitchen Possible. We truly couldn’t do what we do without you.

If Floriole is one of your happy places, would you consider leaving us a 5-star Google review? Reviews make a real difference for a small business and help more people find their way through our doors.

See you this weekend!
