We haven’t posted a review in quite awhile…. I was reading a article about where to get the best fried Shrimp in Chicagoland and Hagen’s Fish Market kept coming up. So I had to go!!
We got a pound of fried Jumbo shrimp, 1/2 pound of fried scallops , 2 Lbs frozen King Crab legs, 1/2 Lb Seafood Salad, Some Smoked Salmon Candy, Smoked Lake Trout, and one Maryland Crab Cake!
This place is take out only and they accept credit cards. When we got out to the truck we ate the shrimp and scallops. The breading was good , could of been a little thinner. I thought the jumbo shrimp should of been bigger. They were cooked just right ( not overcooked and tough). The scallops were sweet and tasted awesome! When we got home we tried the seafood salad ( which has imitation crab ) but tasted really good! We cooked the crab cake on the stove in a little oil. The crab cake is made with real crab and tasted awesome!!! The Smoked salmon and lake trout tasted great .. had a great smoke taste and was sweet! We boiled the crab legs and they were sweet and tasty!!! I would definitely come back here , but I think goose island shrimp house is a little better for their shrimp!

Cafe la Cave ...Great restaurant the steaks were cooked to perfection. Everything is à la cart. Very tasty would definitely go back again. We bought a Groupon for this restaurant in case anybody would like to go.

Great Mexican Food. We had the Carne Asada which was cooked perfectly. You get free Dessert ... Fried Bananas.

If you are ever in Key Largo The Fish House Restaurant is a must try. The smoked fish dip was amazing!! We tried the Yellow Tail Snapper, Scallops, Shrimp and Swordfish. Everything tasted the best!!!

We were at a local pizza joint in Villa Pk and the waitress was telling us about a Gyro place that she said was the best Gyro she has ever had. So the next day we were in the area and decided to pop in and try a Gyro. We weren’t very hungry so Michelle and I got a Junior Gyro. I have to say I think this is our new “To Go” place for a Gyro. The Gyro meat was moist and had a great flavor. (Some places have dried out meat) The pita bread was like “Wow” it came out piping hot and crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside like it was just baked that day. To me what makes a great Gyro is the tzatziki sauce ! They make their sauce in house daily and it was awesome. The sauce was creamy and not overpowering! They are dining in and the inside was very clean. The prices are on the high side ( $9 for a full size Gyro and $7 for a JR. ) The owner told us his prices are on the higher side because he uses the freshest ingredients and makes his own Tzatziki sauce . Ok our first review.. we went to Lawrence’s Fish and Shrimp in lombard.
The restaurant is not open for indoor dining so we just got a 1/2 pound of the large shrimp. The breading was light and crispy and cooked perfect. We got a hot and medium sauce... we liked the hot ( not to spicy) we will definitely return when the indoor dining opens
