Your can’t replace a good thing! Here is an update on Ciao Amore, the building stands empty after 2 1/2 years. Greed is an ugly monster and unfortunately the owner did not want to renew our lease. So many wonderful people, so much amazing food and memories. Chef Cesar brought an amazing dream to fruition! You never know where we’lll turn up. Just remember, “Enter as a stranger and leave as a friend.” ❤️ Stay healthy and safe!

HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT!

Heathy Substance will be attending and serving in the annual Vegandale Fest in Chicago!! WOOHOO!!

We will be debuting some very yummy dishes and an interesting mystery item that was brought over from our hometown specifically for this event! Be sure to stop by the booth early the 22nd and grab yours before they are gone!

It’s been a while but the “Support and Love” for this dream is amazing! When Chef Cesar started this journey, I don’t think he had any idea what an icon he would be. This love story by a man who had an amazing vision that will go on and never stop ! Bringing you the best homemade Italian food and recipes to our city of Chicago and surrounding areas. You, all of you - family, friends, patrons and anyone who walked through the welcoming doors of our Pilsen CIAO AMORE..a special place for people to meet, eat delicious food to order and the most memorable gatherings! Just a reminder, we did not close due to any of the rumors!!!! WE CLOSED DUE to the landlord not a wanting to renew the lease! Plain and simple!!!! We had no choice!!!

Many of you have asked; when, where and how can we get Chef Cesar back to doing what he loves best! In due time. As you all remember he became ill and needed a well deserved break. Everyone in life needs to take a step back at sometime and catch their breath. Chef Cesar is doing that now and appreciated all your kind words and thoughtfulness.

When Cesar and I crossed paths we had the time of our life! Chef Cesar taught me so much and I am fortunate to have experienced the love of food from him😍. He certainly doesn’t share his secret recipe for his family recipe of Tiramisu, the best ever!!!! He keeps that locked in his magical book of recipes, his head🧐🤩!

People, please continue to leave your messages, comments and well wishes. We hear you and hope someday in the future to bring you something creative and innovative along with the ambiance we all shared with you!

I miss our Ciao Amore marriage and look forward to running around all over with Cesar to make all of you happy with his amazing creations! Ciao Amore is and was that place to all of us! Home away from Home❤️😍❤️

We’ve read your postings, we feel your love and most of all we miss you immensely! The Pilsen neighborhood continues to make changes and some are having a rough time embracing it!

Ciao Amore is, and was one of the best local restaurants in the neighborhood! Ciao Amore was where you would find Cesar cooking and singing or Rene giggling at his humor, while sampling his delightful creations. 12 years ago an amazing “Dream” was brought to fruition and unfortunately our lease was not renewed! We worked effortlessly to stay in the building and provide the best Italian Food created by one amazing Chef!

You will never find an Italian meal made with love and passion like the offerings at Ciao Amore.

Keep following this page for updates and future surprises. We may have taken a break for now...... but you never know what could come to the neighborhood or surrounding areas......please feel freestone inbox us any questions!

I know a few of you asked and I try to respond in timely manner.

Thank you for all the Notes, Instant Messages and Text Messages.....Unfortunately yes, Pilsen is replacing all the local restaurants with new things. The neighborhood is changing people 😞

Ciao Amore had a long run however, as of 2 months ago we sadly closed our doors. With that said, please quit believing the nasty rumors........we graciously closed our doors after not being allowed to renew the lease. Unfortunately, this happened to a few restaurants on 18th Street.

Chef Cesar will pop up in the future with another venture! He is like Santa, they need a break to come out with bigger and better 🙂

Many of you have asked about buying pieces of furniture etc. We have liquidated those items to others. There are a few pieces of unique furniture and you can reach out via IM to Cesar directly. Again, all restaurant equipment and chairs have been relocated. Cesar may have some unique pieces but please IM him privately. Thank you.

Once Again, Thank You Pilsen Neighborhood and surrounding areas, thank you loyal patrons! Every single one of you -are and will be missed!!
