Located in Chicago’s historic Little Italy neighborhood. Pompei was established by Luigi Davino back in 1909. He called it Pompei because it was located near Our Lady of Pompeii Church. Luigi married Carmella, they had 4 sons and a daughter. The family lived above the bakery & worked many long hours making only bread & cheese pizza. After returning home from World War II in 1944, Luigi's sons helped run the business. His eldest son, Alphonso, ran the bakery for 30 years with the help of his brothers Ralph, Solly & Uncle Rogie. When Alphonso retired in the 1980's, his nephew Ralph continued the family business with the support of his wife Rosemarie, mother Marie, sister Carmela and his children, Kim & Tom. Since then, our menu has expanded to what it is today. Using only the freshest & finest ingredients, we will continue to carry on the family tradition that Luigi instilled in 1909. Pompei is proud to say that we've been serving famiiies for 4 generations.

Day 2 of Festa Italiana on Taylor street! The main dining room is open for regular service. Jut’s will be open at 5 for those looking to be waited on! Bar will be going until 10 PM and the kitchen closes at 9 PM!

Setup Day is finally here! Visit us this weekend 8/6-9, Thursday 5pm-11pm, Friday 3:30pm-11pm, Saturday 12noon-11pm and Sunday 11am-10pm. Our Pompei Elmwood Park at 22 W Conti Parkway WILL be open regular hours during the Taste. Of course our Taylor Street location will be open as well.
