A lot of you have been inquiring about the latest information on Joe’s condition so we thought we’d give you all an update :
Joe has been making slow progress; he recently battled pneumonia, in addition to his original injuries from the fall, but has recovered from that. He was recently moved to an in-patient rehab facility to begin his rehabilitation before his eventual return home. Joe needs to get his throat working prorperly again so he can begin eating food, as he is currently on a feed tube for his nutrition. We’re taking his progress one day at a time, as he still has a long road ahead of him. We can’t thank you all enough for all of your calls, texts and voicemails and especially your prayers, the prayer warriors were definitely out in force!
As you might have noticed we have changed the name of the page to “Friends of the old Nook Fan Page.”
Tomorrow, after more than 20 years, the Nook will have new owners. We wish them well in their new endeavor and many prosperous years ahead! We are so glad the Nook will remain a bar and continue to serve the people of this great neighborhood.
We want to thank everyone for their many years of friendship and patronage to the bar with the coldest beer in Chicago!
We had planned to have one hell of a going away party but unfortunately it wasn’t possible.
We will keep this page alive for a while to continue to update on Joe’s recovery.
Thank you all so very much! God bless!
