Why Traditional Lessons Don’t Always Work - Part 4

While the traditional voice lessons may work for some people, they don’t necessarily work for everyone.

Part 4: In traditional lessons: Body alignment and tension get minimal attention, without physical movement and exercises that would fix the issues.

However, in holistic voice coaching: Physical movement, yoga, and other exercises are used to heal alignment, tension, and nervous system issues as part of vocal health and expression.

For example: When I took traditional voice lessons, I was told to “imagine you are a puppet on a string” and “stand tall” which sadly didn’t improve my voice at all, because my back and neck were injured.

Question of the Week - Part 7

Hi, I’m Karen Lyu, the Creative Clarity Coach.

The question of the week is: “Who am I becoming?”

This is a powerful question for creative, neurodivergent women because:

It shifts your focus from past to possibility: You’re not defined by who you’ve been—you’re allowed to evolve into who you’re becoming.

It supports intentional growth: Instead of reacting to life, this question helps you choose who you want to grow into, step by step.

It aligns your actions with your future self: Your daily choices begin to reflect the version of you you’re stepping into.

You don’t have to have it all figured out to be in transformation.
You just have to be willing to keep becoming.

Please remember, one question can change your life.

Who are you becoming right now?

Question of the Week - Part 6

Hi, I’m Karen Lyu, the Creative Clarity Coach.

The question of the week is: “What does your soul need?”

This is a powerful question for creative, neurodivergent women because:

It brings you back to yourself: Beneath the noise, expectations, and constant output, your soul knows what actually nourishes you.

It softens urgency: Not everything is about productivity—some things are about restoration, expression, and being.

It reconnects you to your inner voice: The part of you that isn’t driven by fear, masking, or pressure—but by truth, desire, and alignment.

Your needs are not inconvenient.
They are guidance.

When you listen to what your soul needs, you create a life that is about thriving, not just surviving.

What does your soul need right now?

Why Traditional Lessons Don’t Always Work - Part 3

While the traditional voice lessons may work for some people, they don’t necessarily work for everyone.

Part 3: In traditional lessons: If the student doesn’t make any progress they are told that they are hopeless, when in reality their lack of progress is due to the teacher’s lack of knowledge and skills.

However, in holistic voice coaching: Students are taught holistically in a way that helps them to make consistent progress and become confident performers.

For example: One of my past voice students, Bill Harris, had a voice teacher who took him to a concert, point at the singer and literally say, “That is a singer. You will never be a singer.” Lucky for Bill, he found me and became a professional singer in less than 9 months.

Question of the Week - Part 5

Hi, I’m Karen Lyu, the Creative Clarity Coach.

The question of the week is: “What are my options?”
This is a powerful question for creative, neurodivergent women because:

It shifts you out of feeling stuck: When your brain says “there’s no way out,” this question opens the door to possibility and choice.

It reduces overwhelm by creating space: Instead of reacting from pressure or urgency, you pause and widen your perspective to see more options.

It supports flexible thinking: Neurodivergent minds can sometimes lock into one path—this question helps you explore alternatives without judgment.

It reconnects you to your power: You may not control everything, but you do have choices in how you respond, what you prioritize, and what you need.

You don’t have to pick the perfect option right away. You just have to notice that options exist—and that you get to choose what feels most supportive.

What’s a situation where you could ask yourself, “What are my options?” Let me know in the comments.

“What is triggering me?”

Question of the Week - Part 4

Hi, I’m Karen Lyu, the Creative Clarity Coach.

The question of the week is: “What is triggering me?”

This is a powerful question for creative, neurodivergent women because:

It invites curiosity over control: You don’t have to shut the feeling down—you can explore it, understand it, and respond more intentionally.

It honors your sensitivity as information, not a flaw: Your reactions are not random—they’re signals pointing to needs, boundaries, or deeper truths.

It supports emotional regulation in a compassionate way: When you understand the trigger, your nervous system can start to settle instead of escalate.

It helps you separate the present from the past: Sometimes what feels intense in the moment is connected to an earlier experience—this question creates space to untangle that.

You don’t have to fix the feeling right away. You just have to notice, get curious, and listen to what it might be trying to show you.

What’s something that’s been triggering you lately? Let me know in the comments.

Question of the Week Part 3

Hi I'm Karen Lyu, the Integrated Mindset Coach.

The question of the week is "What are my gifts?"

This is an important, life-changing question for creative, neurodivergent women because:

It changes how you see yourself: When you spend years trying to hide your differences, looking for your gifts reminds you that you aren't broken—you just process the world differently.

It highlights your unique strengths: Neurodivergent brains have amazing abilities, like deep hyperfocus, out-of-the-box problem solving, and intense creativity. This question helps you notice those traits.

It stops you from trying to fit in: Instead of wasting all your energy trying to fix your weaknesses or act like everyone else, it helps you focus on what you are naturally good at.

It proves your worth isn't just about work or status: Your gifts aren't just about how productive you are. They are about the special way you think, feel, and bring creativity to the world.

You don't need to fit into standard boxes to be valuable. Your real power comes from standing out, not blending in.

What is one unique gift or perspective you bring to the table? Let me know in the comments. 👇

Question of the Week- Part 2

Hi I'm Karen, the Integrated Mindset Coach.

The question of the week is "How can I be kind?"

This is an important, life-changing question for creative, neurodivergent women because:

It creates a balance between you and the world: When you balance kindness toward others with kindness toward yourself, you stop people-pleasing and start building healthy, genuine connections.

It heals the pain of feeling misunderstood: We often beat ourselves up for interacting differently, or feel hurt when others don't get us. Choosing kindness—for your own sensitive heart and for others' misunderstandings—stops the cycle of resentment.

It honors everyone's unique boundaries: Being kind to yourself means stepping back when you are overstimulated. Being kind to others means communicating your needs clearly so they know how to support you.

It redefines what it means to help: You don't have to burn yourself out to be a good friend or a helpful person. True kindness means filling your own cup first so you actually have the energy to share your magic with others.

You don't need to sacrifice your own peace to bring light to others. True kindness is a bridge that supports both of you.

What is one small way you can show kindness to yourself or someone else today? Let me know in the comments.👇
