COMMUNITY MEANS SHOWING UP.

Yesterday, September 8, Nate Pendleton volunteered at the Windsor Park Evangelical Lutheran Church food pantry, 7600 S. Saginaw Ave., helping prepare and bag fresh food for families in the community.

The attached photos show Nate doing the work — sorting potatoes, sweet potatoes, onions, and other produce, packing bags, and working alongside others to make sure neighbors had food to take home.

This is what community involvement looks like.

It is not always a speech.
It is not always a meeting.
Sometimes it is simply rolling up your sleeves, standing beside your neighbors, and helping where help is needed.

Nate believes the 7th Ward is strongest when residents, churches, volunteers, and community leaders work together to care for one another.

“It’s not about me, it’s about we. It’s not about I, it’s about us.”

PEOPLE DESERVE TO FEEL PROUD OF WHERE THEY LIVE.

Trash. Neglect. Abandoned spaces. Streets and lots that send the message that nobody cares.

That kind of neglect breaks community pride.

Nate Pendleton believes the 7th Ward deserves better.

Cleaner blocks, maintained lots, beautification, and faster attention to neighborhood problems are not small things — they shape how people feel every day when they step outside their front door.

When a neighborhood looks cared for, people feel cared for.

The 7th Ward deserves clean, respected, and beautiful communities that reflect the dignity of the people who live here.

“It’s not about me, it’s about we. It’s not about I, it’s about us.”

PROTECT OUR HOMES. PROTECT OUR FUTURE.
Homeownership helps families build stability, pride, and generational wealth.
Nate Pendleton believes homeowners should be connected to repair programs, tax-relief resources, property assistance, and support that helps families stay in their homes and keep their neighborhoods strong.
At the same time, irresponsible property owners must be held accountable.
Development should strengthen the people who already live here — not push them aside.

BRING JOBS. BUILD HOPE. GROW THE 7TH WARD.
The 7th Ward deserves economic development that creates real opportunity for the people who live here.
Nate Pendleton believes we must attract businesses, support local entrepreneurs, and connect residents to workforce training, job programs, and industries that are growing across Chicago.
Economic growth should not pass us by. It should create jobs, restore pride, and open doors for families throughout the ward.

OUR YOUTH. OUR FUTURE. OUR RESPONSIBILITY.
Young people in the 7th Ward need more than promises. They need mentors, safe spaces, summer jobs, career pathways, technology, arts, sports, and opportunities that help them see a future for themselves.
Nate Pendleton believes when we invest in our youth, we strengthen families, reduce violence, and build a safer, stronger community.
We should build pathways for our children before they fall through the cracks.

SAFE STREETS. STRONGER 7TH WARD.
Every family in the 7th Ward deserves to feel safe walking outside, waiting for the bus, sitting on the porch, or letting their children play.
Nate Pendleton believes public safety starts with prevention, strong community partnerships, youth opportunity, and leadership that listens to residents.
Safer streets are possible when we invest in people, accountability, and real solutions that address violence at the root.

Streets, sidewalks, lighting, flooding, and alleys matter.
Because quality of life starts right outside your front door.

In the 7th Ward, residents should not have to make five phone calls just to get one problem fixed. Potholes, broken sidewalks, poor lighting, flooding, and damaged alleys are not “small” problems — they affect safety, property values, and daily life.

A responsive aldermanic office should stay on top of these issues and fight to make sure city services actually work for the people.

Nate Pendleton believes basic services are not a luxury — they are a responsibility.

It’s not about me, it’s about we. It’s not about I, it’s about us.
I am Nate Pendleton running for 7th Ward Alderman.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STARTS WITH LEADERSHIP THAT UNDERSTANDS HOW TO CREATE OPPORTUNITY.

Nate Pendleton believes the 7th Ward should be a place where businesses want to invest, entrepreneurs can grow, and residents can find good jobs close to home.
