Hello to all my Afghan fanciers and Friends worldwide. I have started this program to direct serious efforts to not only restore this breed but to ensure it's survival.. could be a spot where scientific information is exchanged as well as common sense. Any and all things will be considered to enhance the Afghan Hound... We must educate future fanciers on the art of Grooming, training, and caring for this wonderful family dog... Did you know Afghans wear many hats when it comes to jobs. One of their best known attributes is they are professional thieves... You have a sandwich and now you don't...lol... Some Afghan hounds were able to round up and or herd just about anything.... They are excellent warriors.... They certainly can hunt almost game animal including at 10,000 ft the Afghanistan snow leopard.... Afghan hounds have a unique pastern and or wrist action... It actually swivels or rotates like a human's wrist. Hence the phenomenal lure coursing they are capable of doing. As far as a family dog, they are quite happy to sit and keep an eye on the kids as well as keep Intruders out... I open the floor for discussion on any and all Afghan Hound subjects... Romaine
