The 4th of July was a great weekend.. Now back to our Potato Lake summer. We will be open our normal summer hours :

Wednesday and Thursday: 4:00pm- 9:00pm
Friday: 2:00pm - close
Saturday: 9:00am - close
Sunday: 9:00am - 2:00pm

We also are pleased to formally announce that you will be able to get Shakes and Ice Coffee’s as we have purchased a F’real shake maker!!! So now, not only can you get John’s homemade ice cream but you can test your taste buds with a yummy shake or ice coffee. Want to adult it,add your favorite mixer for an added bonus…

Wow, what a day!!! Unfortunately the rain didn’t cooperate so our Elvis show was shortened, but what was performed was fantastic…. What a musician. Thank you Joe Sir for a great show… now let’s talk about fireworks…. Mike, you completely outdid yourself.. thanks to Mike and Erin, Rock Solid transport, Joe & Shari Berry, Eric Anderson for your generous donations to make that happen… and lastly to our staff and you our loyal customers… we are beyond fortunate to have your continued support over the years. It’s because of you that makes us keep doing and upping what we do, year after year!!

This show is going to be incredible !! Free to the public and the only thing we ask is no carry ins. So bring your lawn chairs and get ready for a walk back in history on the one and only king of rock and roll….

Despite some of the uninformed rumors traveling around the lake I thought I’d share a little history about how this show came to be. Joe Sir’s longevity in the music industry has made him and his representation of Elvis as currently performed in his show.

The Elvis Show
Joe Sir has been portraying Elvis for more than two decades, initially starting at local nursing homes and dementia care units. His stage act, known as The Elvis Show, is a comprehensive musical journey through the life of the King of Rock and Roll from 1954 to 1977. The concerts recreate iconic moments such as the 1950s hits, the famous '68 Comeback Special, movie soundtracks, gospel performances, and the Las Vegas concert years.
Aside from channeling Elvis's voice, look, and mannerisms, Joe often includes tributes to other 1950s/1960s legends like Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, and Jerry Lee Lewis. He also incorporates storytelling into his shows, sharing anecdotes he has learned directly from people who met Elvis, including Army veterans and Graceland visitors.

So fingers crossed that the weather will hold out and get ready for a trip down memory lane!

Onto our 3rd journey of the centuries... The 1700 & 1800's have been a lot of fun and delicious but now is the time to hit the century that we are mostly acclimated to. the 1900's. The early 1900's cuisine was reliant on root vegetables and because modern refrigeration was rare, diets were dominated by cured meats, preserved fruits and more gelatin based. During WWI and the great depression, there wasn't food to waste so every meal became the start of the next and WWII food was to be conserved and once again not wasted. Then toward mid 1900's, and most families were investing in the new technology of TV's, the focus went from nice big, sit-down family dinners to congregating around the tv and quick and easy. Thus the invention of TV dinners... Easy, quick and mostly delicious (or at least we thought at the time).

SO to recognize the creation so well known by Swanson, Banquet and Hungryman, John will be creating his very own homemade TV Dinners this Saturday night. Yes, you guessed it - even served on an aluminum tray - but sooo much tastier. So come on in for some nostalgia and let us take you back to a time when life was much simpler.
