As summer comes to an end, we wanted to take a minute and say something from the heart.
Thank you, Chestertown. ❤️
When our family took over Loon Lake Market & Deli, we really didn’t know what our first summer was going to look like. We had a lot of ideas, a lot to learn, and probably made a few mistakes along the way. But one thing became very clear pretty quickly — we have an incredible community behind us.
This summer was more than selling sandwiches, serving ice cream, stocking coolers and trying to keep up on those crazy busy weekends.
It was getting to know people.
It was seeing the same families come through the door every weekend. Seeing kids come in after a day at the lake for ice cream. Talking with campers, boaters, locals and people who have been coming to Loon Lake for generations. It was hearing your suggestions, laughing with you, and slowly figuring out what you want this little market to be.
There were days we couldn’t make sandwiches fast enough, days we ran out of things we never thought we’d run out of, and plenty of moments where we were figuring it out as we went. 😂
And through all of it, you supported us.
You came back. You told your friends. You shared our posts. You gave us ideas. You were patient with us when things got crazy.
Our family and everyone who worked beside us this summer truly can’t thank you enough.
As we close out our first summer as owners, we’re incredibly grateful for what this community has given us, and we’re even more excited about what’s ahead.
Over the next month, you’ll see us start shifting into our fall and winter hours. 🍂❄️
And we’re really excited about this next part…
We’re staying open year-round.
This will be our first fall and winter at Loon Lake Market & Deli, and we want to keep building this place into something the community can count on — not just during those beautiful summer months, but when the boats are put away, the leaves are falling and eventually when there’s two feet of snow outside.
We’re going to keep learning, keep trying new things, keep listening to you and keep doing our best to make this little market something Chestertown can be proud of.
