What satisfies you most about your job? Honestly, it’s those small, quiet shifts you notice in people. They arrive carrying the weight of their day-to-day, and then somewhere along the way, they soften. If I’ve had a hand in that , even in a small way, that’s what matters most to me.
Favorite Glenmere Detail? I’ve always been drawn to the gardens. Not just how they look, but how they feel. There’s a stillness there, something that feels unchanged- almost like it’s held onto a bit of another era.
What makes Glenmere unique? It never feels like a hotel to me. It feels like a place someone once called their home, and in many ways, still does. There’s a kind of Gilded Age grace to it, but without any heaviness. It’s comfortable and personal.
Memorable Glenmere moment? There was a proposal one evening, just as the sun was starting to drop behind the trees. Nothing overly elaborate, but everything about it felt right. You could tell it was something they would remember for the rest of their lives. Those are the moments that stay with you, too.
Must-see you recommend to guests? I always tell guests — take a walk through the gardens toward dusk, and don’t be in a hurry. Then, later in the evening sit down for dinner. The food really reflects the seasons here. It’s thoughtful but not overdone. You can taste where you are.
Favorite thing about Glenmere? It slows you down without asking. People don’t even realize it at first. They just start lingering a little longer over coffee, over dinner, and/ or over the view. By the time they leave they feel different.
