Grano Restaurant is an Italian eatery and bar serving locally sourced and seasonally inspired cuisine. Located in downtown Chester, Grano Restaurant will offer handmade pasta, plentiful antipasti, grilled meat and fish, classic cocktails, and Italian wines. We focus on sourcing produce, and especially grains, from the area to produce a modern-yet-familiar approach to traditional Italian cooking.

As a feature on the menu, our pastas will be produced fresh daily and composed of in-house milled grain. The seasonally inspired menu will be creatively prepared with local produce primarily from CT farmers and growers. Italian food must rely on the quality and freshness of ingredients and composed without being too fussy. Our goal is to prepare dishes that are nourishing, healthful, bright, flavorful, wholesome and honest, brought to the guest with stupendous hospitality. We want this restaurant to be a neighborhood favorite and a destination spot for visitors. Seasonally inspired cooking as a concept allows the chef to utilize the best of the season’s offerings while allowing for community relationships with farmers and producers to manifest. Italian cuisine enables guests to enjoy something familiar, but including seasonal products adds value and specialty to the menu. Italian cooking and traditional methods highlight seasonal offerings, as well as inspire the team in the kitchen.

Summer is in full swing at Grano Arso. This weekend is the weekend to enjoy summer’s abundance special thanks to Ian Gibson and Scotts’ Farms and ofcourse Joel Gargano

Fingerling Potatoes - fried and served with black truffle dressing and crema

Smoked Proscuitto with Scott’s Farm Melon pickled ginger, and citrus evoo

Wellstone Farm Nardello Peppers served with stracciatella, housemade crostini, fennel seed chili crunch

And finally the creme de la creme … Caprese … although not so traditional but equally mouth watering .. made from Wellstone Farm San Marzano tomatoes slowly roasted with fresh mozzarella, verbena & basil oil, arugula, and balsamic vinaigrette.
