A SEASON OF CHANGE
Even as we make changes to our services, our underlying goal of providing hospitality & provisions for neighbors and travelers by foot, hoof, pedal, paddle, and wheel continues!
CHANGE IN CAFÉ OPERATING FORMAT
Our biggest change is due primarily to staffing issues and our difficulty finding even part-time help with kitchen and front-of-the-house experience. Effective immediately, The Café at Owl and Olive will not be open with regular operating days or hours. Please know this was a very difficult decision and is not made lightly. The good news – and we think it is Good News - is that great food and hospitality will continue in the Café – albeit in a slightly different format.
BRUNCH AND SUPPER CLUB
First, we have dreamed of offering regular Brunch and Supper Club Events. In 2023 – if not before – we will be offering regular meals with a Prix Fixe (price fixed) menu. These will be open to individuals, couples and small groups who wish to join us for a special meal crafted just for the occasion. You will notice some familiar items on the menus – and new ones – made possible by this format of operating the cafe, along with local and regional wines and cocktails appropriate to the meal. We are getting hungry (and thirsty) already!
PRIVATE EVENTS FROM 12 to 24
Second, the Café will be available year-round for private events. Anniversaries, birthdays, family reunions, company appreciation gatherings – the sky is the limit. We can currently handle from 14 to 24 people for events in the café and hope to soon be approved for up to 49. The café, patio, firepit and gardens – all yours with a custom menu to boot! Want to throw in a barn dance? We can do it! (Minimums will apply.) Drop us an email and let’s talk about the possibilities: [email protected].
THE FUTURE
Only time will tell what the future holds. Maybe regular café hours return – maybe not. It’s possible our planned Mercato and Gelateria (market & gelato shop) opens in time for next year’s hiking/biking/horseback riding season on the Willapa Hills Trail (I know, the trail is awesome in the off-season too, but for some reason there is just less trail traffic?) 😊 Hope springs eternal!
THANK YOU
A very special thank you to YOU - our customers, our friends new and old - for making our first 17 months of serving delicious quality Italian and Mediterranean inspired food such a fun and amazing ride. We hope you will stay in touch. We hope you will join our Brunch & Supper Club (https://owlandolive.net/join/) We hope you will keep joining us to celebrate your birthdays, anniversaries, and beautiful families and friendships. And we hope you will keep spreading the word about our little Café tucked under an event and wedding venue – all located in an old barn just over the Doty Hill on WA Rural Route 6. Happy Holidays and best wishes for an amazing 2023!
