A little fun fact about us: Many of you have asked about our picture of the man in the SCV uniform that hangs on our wall, and we're thrilled to share the inspiring story behind it. Over the years, many customers have had questions or even asked to buy the picture, but what they don't know is that this is my dad, Douglas Morrison, an individual who embodied the spirit of resilience and dedication. He was an active member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp 707 State of Dade, and this picture was taken at a reenactment before his passing. Daddy was taken from us in 2008, a tragic loss that occurred while he was riding his motorcycle in Montgomery, Alabama. Today marks 18 years that he has been gone, and as we reflect on his legacy, we're reminded that even though life is constantly evolving, the values he instilled in us remain unchanged. His unwavering commitment to excellence and his 'taking care of business' attitude continue to inspire us every day. He may be gone, but his spirit lives on through us, and we're honored to keep his memory alive. So, you see, it isn't just a picture - it's a symbol of hope, love, and the indomitable human spirit. That is our heart on that wall. ❤️

We love you daddy❤️

Thank you to Al Creamer for the hand drawn picture❤️

🫡🇺🇸 Just in case you forgot why you have a three-day weekend…

This is it.

Not the barbecues. Not the beach trips. Not the sales.

This is the reason.

The folded flag. The final salute. The ultimate sacrifice so the rest of us could be free.

This Memorial Day, we honor the fallen.

We remember their names. And we never take this freedom for granted. -DHJr

Dear Parents,

Somewhere along the way,
we stopped preparing children for the world
and started preparing the world for children.

Deadlines became flexible.
Rules became optional.
Discomfort became harmful.
Failure became unacceptable.

And now many children are entering classrooms, and even society itself, expecting life to adjust around them constantly.

But real life does not work that way.

Jobs will not always care about excuses.
Relationships will not always feel fair.
The world will not always reward minimal effort.

Children need support.
But they also need standards.

They need to learn that:
not every feeling should control a situation,
not every disappointment is trauma,
and not every consequence is mistreatment.

Because resilience is not built through constant accommodation.

It is built through responsibility,
accountability,
and learning how to recover after setbacks.

Teachers are trying to prepare children for adulthood.

But that becomes difficult when every boundary is treated as cruelty
and every expectation is treated as pressure.

Children are far more capable than many adults now allow them to be.

And sometimes the most caring thing we can do
is stop lowering the bar.

If we want children to succeed in the real world, we cannot spend their entire childhood protecting them every challenge that prepares them for it.

Happy birthday Tia! We hope you have a blessed day ❤️
