Remember these thick boys? 3" deep of pizza delight?

We've been hounded about them so much that we'll be bringing deep dish back one day only on December 16th drive-through market.

Pre-orders will open through Local Food Hub's site tomorrow afternoon and for pickup on the 16th. The order deadline is the 14th and YOU MUST order through them. We cannot accept orders through DMs this go around. --πŸ–€πŸ•πŸΆ

You may be asking yourself, why is Pye Dog posting a photo of ? We'll tell you. First, it's story time.

Three and a half years ago, on a sun-washed October afternoon in a land far far away, Anna was cleaning some skrimps in the Public kitchen. Then Kelsey walked into the kitchen and said, "I'm the new cook. I love whiny music." And Anna said, "Wow. Me too." Then Kelsey watched Anna clean those skrimps and said, "Girlllll I love the way you clean skrimp." Then Anna watched Kelsey sear a scallop and said, "So crispy. So buttery." The rest is history. The point of this all is to say, without Public, there would be no Kelsey and Anna, gal pals forever. Which means, there'd be no Pye Dog.

Since that time, both Daniel (the owner) and Gregg (the chef) have been endlessly supportive of our endeavors. We're excited to announce that we'll be going back to our roots. Starting next week on Wednesday (April 29th), Public is reopening its takeout service. We will be handling the kitchen under the direction of Chef Gregg/cleaning shrimp together once again. Come get your seafood fix and keep your eyes peeled for some fun specials.

We're using this strange time to start a new project and won't have time to pizza party in the coming weeks. So, this week will be the FINAL WEEK of deep dish pizza at the IX Park (at least for a the forseeable future). If this news strikes you with abject terror, you can always freeze one of the pizzas for a rainy day.
This weeks menu:
1) Cheese, red sauce
2) Sausage, mushroom, red pepper, onion, red sauce, cheese
3) Korean Fire Chicken: Buldak chicken (marinated in 's buldak sauce), pickled jalapenos and wild garlic, gochujang mater sauce, sesame seeded crust, cheese.
If you'd like to order, send us a message. It is still pay what you can. Send payment to on Venmo or Paypal to keep it easy-breezy and contact free. Pizzas will be available for pickup on Saturday from 9-12.

Country ham dashi, foraged fiddly heads/wild onions/wood ears, radish top kimchi from , and Hitachinos. We didn't find any morels today, but nature blessed us with this delicious bounty.
