Sunday Morning! A bonus market for y'all...

10/09/2026

How can you tell it's Fall?

1. It's dark when your boss finally condescends to let you go home to your family.

2. The Washington Commanders are already scrambling to deal with another injury to a key player.

3. Old Nick's Apple Butter is back!!!

Concentrated apple flavor with seasonal spices and brown sugar, finished off in Old Nick's devilish fashion with a healthy helping of Peruvian Aji Limon, that citrus toned delight from the Andes.

It'll be there this weekend, with all your regular favorites!

09/23/2026

Sorry we got rained out at Pen Park today, but we'll be back Saturday Morning at Water Street from 9 to 1.

And we've spent the time perfecting a new product for our fall line. It's Old Nick's Fall Favorites Chutney! Little cubes of butternut squash, diced tart apples, finely cut onions, and delicious dried cranberries, cooked down in apple c***r vinegar with brown sugar and warm pumpkin pie spices. It'll liven up pork, chicken, or especially turkey. You have to try it to believe it. And all with a healthy zing rather than full on burn from chipotles in adobo.

Sunny skies and beautiful, crisp, almost-fall weather!
..Is not what's happening today. The market is closing early today for the safety of vendors and customers alike.

But never fear. If you missed us today, come down to Farmers in the Park on Wednesdays 3-7pm at Pen Park. We'll have plenty of jam...and hopefully better weather!

07/02/2026

Hey folks, it's going to continue to be ridiculously hot this Saturday. At the moment, the market seems to be going ahead (but may be slightly shortened).

PLEASE be careful if you're heading to see us (and leave the pets at home)!

A couple changes this week.

1. We may decide to bring slightly smaller supplies of each product. This is to protect the products themselves and, frankly, gives us less to load and unload! Please be patient with us if we don't have your favorite in stock.

2. THIS WEEK ONLY we are happy to pre pack orders for you. If you know what you'd like to order, please message us and it will be bagged up and ready for you to grab quickly on Saturday.

3. Also this week only, we can offer a limited number of pickups from 12pm to 4pm at Amy's office behind UVA Hospital. Please message for details.

4. If you have medical or extenuating circumstances and simply must have your weekly fix but aren't finding the option that will work for you here, we will do our best to accommodate you. Please (you guessed it) message us.

Most importantly, check on one another and keep yourself as cool as possible.

Tomorrow Morning - Saturday April 4.

Charlottesville City Market is back at Water Street, 9 am to 1 pm. And that means Old Nick is back too.

Same place as last time, come and try our new Jalapeno and Ghost Pepper Simple Syrups for all your cocktail needs.

Well, not ALL your cocktail needs. We can't sell you booze. Oh boy, the market management was REALLY clear about that...

03/21/2026

So we're almost there. April 4th, the market starts up again.

This year we're doing the Saturday Market in Charlottesville on Water Street, the Sunday Market in Charlottesville at Starr Hill/the Sunday Market in Ruckersville at the Wooly Lam, and the Wednesday afternoon market at Penn Park (unless I get a job...).

We're pretty well stocked up on most things right now, but, as ever, until the peppers come in there are going to be certain things that once we run out, we won't be able to make again till later. There's also the seasonal things -- in particular the Amish Christmas Jam. Once we run out of that, it's gone till November.

So either come early or reach out to us. If you're local, we can deliver. No need to do without!

And we're looking forward to seeing all y'all again. We're in the same spot as last year, between Dogwood & Thistle W**e and Pit & Pastry on Row D. What more could you want? W**e, Spice, and BBQ back to back. It's like a divine message to you. And don't sleep on Appalachian Blue Craft in the spot one further down for all your non-pepper, non-wine, non-BBQ gifting needs!

Market testing time...

Would people be interested in Pepper-Infused Simple Syrup for cocktails?

Folks, Nick and I just wanted to thank you for a wonderful 2025 market season. We have the best customers out there and it has been an absolute pleasure serving you!

Your support of our tiny family business has meant everything during this tough year; it is perhaps cliche at this point, but please understand what a dramatic impact you have made by buying local. We have especially loved the community that has grown around us, and it makes our day when you all stop by to chat on the weeks you're not making a purchase.

Highlights this year included Nick being the proud first recipient of the Flavour Flav Peace Prize-- a major new award-- bestowed by one of our first and most beloved customers, and our new collaboration with Dogwood & Thistle W**e. Stay tuned for more fun in 2026!

It's possible we'll be doing a few winter markets at Ix, and we'll certainly see you in the spring. In the meantime, don't hesitate to reach out for all your winter jam needs. We offer free delivery in the greater Charlottesville area.

All of our best wishes for a happy, healthy new year.

With our love,
Amy and Nick

Tomorrow is the last holiday market - 9 am to 1 pm, Water Street.

Once again, we'll be collaborating with our neighbors, Dogwood & Thistle W**e, to pair their spectacular Virginia wines with our zesty products. Seriously, what else do you need for the holidays...

Come try our Fatalii Jelly with goat's cheese on a baguette with their dry Shenandoah Valley Riesling, and our Amish Christmas Jam with Habaneros with their sophisticated Cabernet Franc.

See you there!

Oh, and try the new batch of Scorpion Mai Tai Jam - it's got quite the sting in its tail...
