Mel's Diner organizes fresh food and home cooked meals for truly needy people.

Duke & Toni Oxford and friends, otherwise known as Mel’s Diner is a non-funded group of people who simply care. Mel's Diner has been feeding people in dire need in Charlotte since 2001, without ever asking its patrons to pay a dime and with nothing but a big heart and a lot of effort. They also pick up food that would otherwise go uneaten or thrown away and give it out selflessly to people who are

truly hungry. Duke & Toni and the many people who donate their time, effort and resources make all this possible.

Your $50 donation provides a frozen turkey and the fixin's for one family. You can also mail a check (payable to Common Heart) to: PO Box 2761, Indian Trail, NC 28079. Write “Turkeys” in the memo line.

We'll be adding more volunteer driver slots soon (stay tuned!) but have lots of open slots to work onsite Saturday, Nov. 22 including traffic control and warehouse support sorting donations, packing up produce etc. Choose your way to serve: Turkeys.CommonHeart.org

Dan has retired and now loaded our container with donations from our Faith Formations children and washed and stored potatoes for cooking. He has a true servants heart and is Gods hands and feet.
