When The Cooking Pot opened 10 years ago, we wanted to celebrate with the world our Nigerian African culture through our food.
We were so shocked to find out that majority of the population knew little or nothing about Nigerian cuisine or African cuisines in general. The first 2 years we spent teaching people the menu and just like that our community was formed and it blossomed.
Our community was far reaching from Charlotte, Winston Salem, Greenville( NC/SC), Columbia, Raleigh, Durham, Spartanburg, Myrtle beach, Ohio, Michigan and the list goes on. Our customer base encompassed all nationality and we couldn’t have been more thankful and filled with gratitude for all the unwavering support. Our customers became part of our family.
Over the years, we have held hands prayed together, laughed and even cried( a simple interaction of “how is your day going” has resulted in out pouring of emotions). We watched families grow and children born before our eyes also come placing orders in their baby voices or just simply nodding their heads. Ooh the joy we have had, but this is not goodbye.
WE HAVE DECIDED TO TEMPORARILY CLOSE FOR NOW. THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR AN AMAZING 10YEARS. WE COULDNT HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT YOU ALL.
