My name is Daniel Crawley Jr., and I’ve found my passion in food. Growing up in North Philadelphia, I faced instability and hardship, but through discipline and hard work, I discovered a new path. I started small, cooking breakfast for myself, then working in restaurants after high school. From prep cook to line cook at places like Outback Steakhouse and local spots in Philadelphia and Delaware County, I learned the craft from the ground up. I even worked in a cheesesteak shop back home, where I learned exactly what makes a real Philadelphia cheesesteak authentic.
Eventually, I began selling food out of my home—first breakfast, then chicken and waffles, and later cheesesteaks. When I moved to Charlotte, North Carolina in 2023, I saw a huge opportunity. Charlotte has a booming food truck scene, but no one was serving a true Philadelphia cheesesteak that tasted like home. So I started making them from scratch, using real ingredients shipped from Philly. The response was so strong that people were lining up outside my apartment, and the demand was overwhelming.
Now, I’m ready to take the next step and launch Fresh Prince STK the right way. The funds from this fundraiser will help me purchase a food truck and the equipment needed to serve authentic Philly cheesesteaks to the Charlotte community. This isn’t just about food—it’s about breaking cycles, building something from nothing, and proving that resilience and authenticity matter.
