Isn’t this a lovely story!
I can’t love this enough. The history, fresh milled flour, home steeped vanilla, fresh eggs.
“The truth is, it’s not really about cookies at all.
It’s about connection — around a table, in a kitchen, and between neighbors.”
She gets the heart of baking, and that is beautiful. 💖
Go check her out tomorrow at the end of South Hancock.

One year ago, The Craftsman Cookie Co. officially launched. It’s hard to believe how much can change in a year — especially when you step out on faith.
I fell in love with cookies while living with family, new to the state from Arizona, and waiting to find a house that fit our family. When we walked into a 111-year-old Craftsman house at the end of a quiet street — with the trees, the history, the worn floors — we knew it was ours.
The Craftsman Cookie Co. is named after that house.
It isn’t flashy. It isn’t perfect. But the bones are good.
That’s how I’ve come to see this little business too.
Good bones. Good ingredients.
From the beginning, this was never about creating a viral cookie. It was about building something steady. Something rooted. Something that would last.
I believe ingredients matter. I believe slow work builds better things. That’s why our flour is milled fresh before baking, we use eggs gathered from hens we’ve raised since they were chicks, and steep vanilla for months before it ever makes its way into a batch.
The truth is, it’s not really about cookies at all.
It’s about connection — around a table, in a kitchen, and between neighbors.
As we step into year two, we’re excited to open The Craftsman Pantry, a self-serve farm pantry on this special property. The stand is a small extension of what has already begun to take form. The same cookies you’ve grown to love, alongside simple staples made with the same intention and care.
Thank you for supporting good bones and good ingredients.
Here’s to another year of building something that lasts.
