I’d like to apologize for not giving credit when credit is due. Santis is absolutely incredible. It is the staple in Charleston for authentic Mexican. I’ve eaten there the last 3 Sundays w/ my family and tonight I had it delivered. Now that I live downtown I frequent the downtown location. And it’s just amazing. I would recommend this location to anyone seeking a great Mexican meal. For the record, Santis downtown is my favorite restaurant in Charleston. I have just declared Santis as my favorite. Why? Consistency. Service. And if it’s Santis or s*x w/ Liza I at least question it as sometimes Liza takes deep breaths that translate as “hurry up”. Anyway. They don’t need the love as it’s packed 24/7 as us locals know good food. My go to is the skirt steak that comes with/ a cheese enchilada. I get it every time. Liza and I split a pitcher of Pacifico and that plenty. Just joking. After the pitcher I moved to Negro Modelos, the liter, while she tries to order margaritas w/ vodka, they refuse, so she ends up w/ more Pacifico. I feel like an ass as I missed out on this place when I lived in SI. But I’m back and I’m their biggest fan. The service is epic. Best chips in Charleston. My recommendation is just pouring salt all over them. The owner is always on site and incredible and if that is not the owner give this guy a raise as this shop runs perfectly. When I lived in SI I tried the one in Mt P and just didn’t vibe w/ it but now I’m starting to realize it was just me being an as***le as I lived in the islands. What an establishment. Great outdoor area. Great for drinking. Great for kids. Just an epic place that runs how I wish I could run The Co Op. Damn it’s tasty.
