Life gave me lemons… so I decided to make lemonade. 🍋

Closing the restaurant wasn’t the ending I pictured.

There were plans, prayers, sacrifices, long days, lessons, wins, losses, and plenty of moments where I had to ask myself, “What’s next?”

But sometimes God will close one chapter not because the story is over… but because there’s another chapter waiting to be written.

So instead of letting the lemons discourage me, I decided to squeeze every drop out of them. 🍋

And that’s how Lemonade & Popcorn was born. 🍋🍿

Don’t Ignore the Small Things!

Sometimes we spend so much time waiting for a big opportunity that we completely overlook the small moments trying to lead us there.

Years ago, I was just going through another normal day when I noticed something simple—a small sticker on the back of a car.

It read:
Manning, South Carolina.

Most people would’ve looked at it for a second and forgotten about it.
I couldn’t.

In an instant, I was transported back to being a little kid spending my summers in my grandmother’s bakery. I could picture the building, remember the smells, the people, and the feeling of watching something special being built by our family.
That one little sticker made me remember a dream I didn’t even realize I had forgotten.

I couldn’t stop thinking about it.
That night I started researching.
Then I kept researching.
Eventually I bought a tent.
The tent became a food truck.
The food truck became a restaurant.

And today, we’re building something much bigger than waffles.
We’re building a place where families make memories together.
Looking back, it’s amazing to think that none of this may have happened if I hadn’t noticed one tiny sticker on the back of someone’s car.

Life has a funny way of speaking to us.

Sometimes it isn’t through a huge breakthrough.
Sometimes it isn’t through a life-changing conversation.
Sometimes it’s a song.

A photo.

A smell.

A phone call.

A memory.

Or a little sticker on the back of a car.
The problem is that we’re often moving so fast that we miss what those moments are trying to tell us.

So here’s my encouragement this week:
Pay attention.

Don’t overlook the little things.
That random conversation may become your next business.
That book someone recommends may change your mindset.
That opportunity that seems too small may open a door you never imagined.
Purpose doesn’t always arrive with fireworks.

Sometimes it whispers.
I’m thankful I listened.
Because one small reminder didn’t just bring back a memory.
It changed my life.

And maybe today, there’s something small in your life trying to change yours.
