Hello Island Teriyaki friends & fam!!

I want to thank you all for the messages, comments, posts, and support that you all have been sending and showing me over the past few weeks. PLEASE keep them coming!

I am aware of the situation involving My Time Restaurant and Spirits and their menu items. I have been advised to not comment on this situation, but if and when I am able to do so, I will shed some light.

I am currently working on resurrecting Island Teriyaki both in the form of a dine in establishment and getting the big green ugly back on the road. If anybody has any leads on available commercial properties that are available, please send them my way!

I appreciate all of you and can't hardly wait to see familiar faces again. See ya'll around soon and as always.....be excellent to each other

Hello Friends! I have several important announcements!

First, You will no longer be able to get the Moon Burger, Dude Sandwich, Sriracha Queso Fries, Crab Dip, and the ONE and ONLY Original YumYum Ball, at My Time Restaurant and Spirits in Milton WV.

I realize many of you probably didn't even know Island Teriyaki was serving food at this location. A formal announcement was never made because there are many unknown factors that come with starting a new restaurant, and I was solely focused on lending my brand and expertise to help them get opened and running.

Now that they are up and running, I am formally announcing Island Teriyaki’s severance and complete departure from My Time Restaurant & Spirits.
I will no longer be helping other restaurants get their doors open, only to be shoved out of them 6-12 months later.

I’m taking it back to Island’s roots and do like we always did,like Shawn did,and rock the big green truck till the wheels fall off!

My caring and kind nature has come to show me many things over the last three years. However, even through the many hard lessons learned, I will still never let anyone or anything take my good nature from me. I will be more cautious in my future endeavors and relationships "with sales men.”

awe!!!! I'm just seeing this and it's perfect timing. Remodeling the truck has taken longer than anticipated and it's been heavy on my heart. Hearing this and serving as a reminder that i have to get back to what i live and what im good at asap!! was the little smack on the ass i've been needing!! Thanks Main Co**se 💚🤙

As much as it sucks to write this,it has to be done……..

Island Teriyaki’s time at Rebar on Main has come to an end.
We celebrated our one year anniversary in April.
I did not envision my time being over just a few months later.
While it is,”nothing i have done” ,the owner felt things needed to change and I obviously wasn’t part of that vision.
Things went pretty great on my end and i’m thankful for my time at Rebar.

As many of you know the food truck remodel had taken a back seat to the restaurant because of the difficulties in finding skilled employees,who wanted to work and were as passionate about the food as i.
If i would have envisioned this outcome i would have put more emphasis on the remodel of the food truck so that i wasn’t out of commission for any amount of time.
However the future is unknown and change is inevitable.
I must now turn my attention and energy to the truck and getting it out ASAP.

I have loved being back in business and seeing all of the old familiar faces from the valley store and from the truck. I have loved the feedback of,
“thank god your back”,or “ i’ve missed (favorite dish)”.
i have loved turning unassuming guests into new regulars. I have loved hearing how much everyone has enjoyed the old and new creations alike.
watching people bite into their very first yum yum ball is and always will be one of my favorite things. LoL!!

I’ve made some friends i’ll keep forever during my time at Rebar. I’ll always think of my time there fondly.
I’ll miss the familiarity of getting up and going to a place that was my second home……i spent more hours there last year than i did at my own home.
while i am a self proclaimed creature of comfort,the stars have aligned and decided it was time to shake me out of that and test my will all over again.
I hope that i don’t lose any friends or fans over this sudden departure but it’s simply out of my hands.

I hope to be back up and running soon so stay tuned.
In the mean time ya’ll be excellent to each other and, don’t you forget about me!!

So people have gotten totally upset over this Mexican Pizza thing but there’s no need to be friends. I got you!! It’s been a secret menu item for for a few months now. I thought it time to share the love. So today and today only come by and try Island Teriyakis copy cat Mexican Pizza. personal $7.50.

we had big plans today to be the hosts of Savior each bite WV during their live FB feed on local good eats. Ya know small places like mine…The moms and pops eateries etc…..but we all know life happens and the host had to cancel due to dealing with kidney stones.

That sounds fun right?

Anyway,since this has been cancelled i too have decided i’m going to spend the day on the food truck doing some much needed remodeling before we roll her out.
I don’t have much free time and when someones willing to spend the afternoon helping you do grunt work….it’s hard to turn down.

If it’s yum yum balls your after the bartenders at Rebar agreed to prepare those for me so YOU can still stop in and get your fix and an ice cold drink.

Otherwise i’ll see ya’ll tuesday with our normal full menu and a pretty great special.

Hey friends,i wanted to give the heads up that Island Teriyaki will be closed tomorrow for lunch service. my daughter is leaving me for college soon and tomorrow is her orientation day…….allllll day!!!!! we will be open for dinner service at 5p.m.
Come by today and get your lunch fix. It’s Taco tuesday special. 3 island tacos for only$9(grilled shrimp upcharge)!

Something is up with the electricity at Rebar on Main. we are impatiently sitting waiting for a resolve. I’ve been prepping fresh all morning. Hopefully this is fixed soon. I’ll update here when it’s fixed.

I’m sorry to drop this suddenly but IT will be closed today. i’m still my only employee and i’m just not feeling super hot today. Sorry to inconvenience. I’ll be open again Tuesday with all your fresh favorites. Hope you all Have a great memorial day weekend.
