This page will soon be disappearing. I've held on hoping to one day open Mel's back up. That idea has been put to rest and a new restaurant will be opening very soon. We hope you all will welcome Rosie's Pizzeria. Made to order Pizzas, fresh salads, wings and more.

Tonight will be the last night for Mel's. It will be a tough night as I have put my heart and soul in to Mel's/SouthSide and losing it is like losing a piece of me. With the loss of so many jobs in Chanute recently, the HUGE loss we took when the City shut down SouthSide and the new places opening up we simply can no longer stay afloat. I still have faith that in the near future our local economy will some day thrive again and that we will somehow be able to resurrect the restaurant, but for now, we will go quietly into the night. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your support, laughs, good times and love. I hope you will show the same love and support at PlayMakers Bar & Grill. Mel

$2.00 Happy hour is back and even better! Drinks, if you can see it, it's $2.00. Beer, shots, bombs, cocktails and more! (does not include doubles) 5pm-7pm.

Mel's will be open today through Saturday DINNER ONLY. Stop in this week for your favorite Mel's food one last time. We will open at 5pm each day.

I would like to thank each and everyone one of you that has messaged, called or posted support. I have always felt like the citizens have been a huge supporter of Earl and I and we truly appreciate it! Closing Mel's was a very difficult but financially necessary decision. Who knows maybe in the near future some new jobs will move in to Chanute and we will have the support we need to open back up. Again thank you all so much for a wonderful 3 years. Oh and don't forget, Mel's on Main - The OtherSide IS staying open. 7 days a week 2pm-2am. Head over and like their page and keep up with all the events coming soon!
