We are open from 6am-2pm Monday-Friday, unless we are booked for an event.

I know most of y’all are tired of hearing me complain about the complete disaster that was the Tulsa capital cruise. With that being said I’ve spent too much mental wherewithal the last few days dwelling on it. So I’m going to make my last statement/post about it now….

I was raised here in Chandler on Route 66. My dad’s family moved here in 1907. My mother’s side of the family was relocated to Indian Teritorry in 1831 and lived in the Oologah and Chelsea areas until they moved to Chandler when she was in school. Her father was a state trooper so he patroled Route 66 and thats how they ended up here. Route 66 is ingrained in my DNA. I now own multiple properties and conduct my day to day business operations on Route 66. My love for history and the community is the reason the SW corner of 7th & Manvel was sold to me and not someone else 6.5 years ago.

The spirit of Route 66 is the independence of the open road, creating memories, and the nostalgic feeling that takes you back to a simpler time.

While I know it was important to the leaders of Tulsa to make money and set a world record, that’s not what should be the only drivers of success.

We all need to take care of our communities… however when a wrong has been committed it’s imperative that the offending parties remedy the situation. This is not only done through an apology, but also requires an admission of fault. The organizers and the city of Tulsa just don’t seem to understand basic common decency.

With all of that being said any car people in the area if you were affected or not… let’s cruise downtown Chandler this Saturday evening to celebrate my birthday and have our own Route 66 good time.

This is not a money thing! We will meet at Big Willy’s maybe about 8pm or so, it should be cooled off by then. Big Willy's Hot Dogs will not be open! I’ll have some kids on a grill cooking dogs for tip money. I’ll pay for the dogs, drinks, and chips so ya’ll dont have to worry about that.

Bring your cars, bring your friends, bring your bikes, bring your lawn chairs, bring your pooches, I don’t care… let’s just have a good time. I’ll come up with some rules and a route in the next few days.

This is not a sanctioned event or organized in any way. We are literally gonna cruise like it’s the old days!!!!

Here’s another update on the Tulsa centennial cruise….

Vice Grip Garage was a paid endorser for the event. After the utter debacle he issued an apology of his own and posted a video of paid registrants waiting in line that were not allowed do the cruise.

What did Visit Tulsa do? They blocked him. You can’t make this stuff up! They literally blocked their own celebrity endorser for trying to make things right with people!

Tulsa's Route 66 Capital Cruise

Everyone that follows this page or knows me personally knows how much my family and I had been looking forward to going to the capital cruise in Tulsa. Many of you had even asked that we post pictures and document all the good times. Well due to unbelievably poor planning/execution of this event there really aren’t any…..

After registering and following all the rules set forth we along with 1000+ other classic cars were left to sit and bake on 21st street for hours and then didn’t get to participate. I honestly don’t know if I’ve ever seen such an unmitigated disaster.

So here’s the one photo I’ve got of us sitting in line….
