What started as a dream to create a welcoming place for homemade meals, desserts, pizza, burgers, chicken, Sunday breakfasts, and community gatherings has turned into the hardest and most emotional journey of our lives. When we bought the building on Main Street, we knew remodeling an older building would take hard work. We were ready for long nights, stress, and sacrifice. What we were not prepared for were the overwhelming costs and strict commercial requirements that kept growing at every turn. We are required to meet plumbing and construction codes designed for much larger commercial businesses and corporations. Every step forward seems to uncover another expensive requirement that must be completed before we can open our doors. While we absolutely understand the importance of safety and regulations, the financial burden has become more than we can carry alone. We have maxed out our Menards cards, borrowed all we possibly can, used the money we had saved to open, and spent the money meant for our household bills. And now… we are simply out of money. This cafe is not just a business to us. It is our future, our livelihood, and something we hoped would become a gathering place for our community for years to come. We have sacrificed time, sleep, finances, and so much emotionally because we truly believe Chadwick deserves a cozy hometown cafe again. As hard as it is to ask for help, we can’t do this alone anymore. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward completing required plumbing work, inspections, code compliance, construction materials, and the final steps needed to open Main Street Cafe. If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser means just as much to us. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in us, supporting small businesses, and helping keep small-town dreams alive. With love and gratitude, Erica & Dave Main Street Cafe
