I have a catering job in Mexico tomorrow night, so we won't have a special tomorrow. It's not a big one, but it's prime rib. And I REALLY don't want to screw up that much $$$$!!
Now, for a not so well kept secret. December 17th will be our last day. With the high cost of everything we deal in these days we can't keep going. I've been catering in some aspect for over 20 years, and I've never had to deal with what we are now. High prices come and go. This year they didn't go. And not just high. Ridiculously high. Double if I'm lucky, but mostly triple plus. We've had a ton of catering the last few months. But almost all of it was booked last year. So those prices I booked at weren't even close to what this year should have been. So to put it bluntly, I've lost my ass this year. Last year was way better financially. And that's pretty bad. You can only raise your prices so much in a town like Centralia and keep your customers. Even though everyone will flock to Columbia and pay more.
It's been a little over 5 years since we opened, and most of the time it was fun. Although now I have lost any enjoyment I ever had doing it. Second reason! And probably most important reason. You can overlook a lot when you're making money. Not so much when you're barely getting by.
We will miss the hell out of alot of y'all. We've gotten so used to seeing a lot of you every week. I'd be sick of of my cooking by now, but I'm so glad y'all aren't!! We will keep catering and selling sauce, so we aren't going totally away!!
So I'll shut up for now. And I promise the next couple weeks we'll have specials!! Thank you so much for your support the last 5 years!!!
